Water in Compendium of Materia Medica
Reading Compendium of Materia Medica means reading Li Shizhen, because it is different from reading other books. You are faced with more than just some words. When you open the page, you can feel a good feeling. This elder named Li Shizhen has been living in this book. He speaks to us in a language that we can understand. I am often moved by his language and often can't help reciting it. How delicious, not only has medicinal value, but also full of literary meaning and life taste.
Li Shizhen's theory of medicine is sometimes eloquent, sometimes plain, sometimes poetic, and sometimes dramatic. It makes you feel that what he said is not medicine, but the ever-changing world, colorful life and the wonderful principle that everything has its vanquisher. Sick people read such words, gradually alleviating their pain; People who are not sick see what he wrote, just like enjoying a beautiful article, at least I do. I really shouldn't just treat Compendium of Materia Medica as a medical book. It teaches people how to keep fit, how to look at nature, and how to cultivate one's morality and mind.
How can you live without reading such a beautiful article? If anyone hasn't read Li Shizhen, please read a passage I specially extracted from Compendium of Materia Medica for you. Only a part of water is enough to see the beauty of his wisdom.
Li Shizhen said-
"Lou. Dew is liquid water accumulated by Yin Qi, wet night air, which permeates everything on the roadside. It is sweet, flat and non-toxic. Autumn dew is cold at night, so it is advisable to decoct lung moistening drugs and adjust various powders to treat scabies.
"Xue. All flowers are five petals, snowflakes are six petals, and six is a negative number. On the third day after winter, the solstice is a wax figure. Snow before wax is very suitable for the growth of vegetable wheat and can freeze locust eggs. Wax snow, sealed in a bottle and placed in the shade, will not be bad for decades. Cereals and seeds soaked in wax snow are drought-resistant and do not produce insects; Sprinkle it on the table and bed, and flies and mosquitoes will fly away by themselves; Soaked fruit is not moth-proof. Isn't it also an effective method to eliminate locusts? In spring, there are insects in the snow, and the water is easy to deteriorate, so it will not be harvested.
"Xia Bing. Ice is the essence of the lunar calendar. Water-based is much like soil, which can change from soft to hard. This is what we call extremes meet. Sweet, cold and non-toxic. Song Huizong ate too much ice and hurt his spleen and stomach. The doctor's treatment was ineffective, and Yang Jie was called for treatment. Yang Jie used Dali Zhongwan. After Hui Zong said he knew, he filmed it many times. Yang Jie said that the emperor's illness was caused by eating too much ice, so I fried this medicine with ice to cure the disease. " Hui Zong recovered after taking it.
Look, isn't it interesting? In his book, there are medicines all over the world, such as herbs, medicinal wood, medicinal stones, medicinal grains, medicinal animals, potions, etc., and even human parts, such as teeth and hair, can be used as medicines. In his book, drugs have their own properties, toxic and non-toxic. If proper, toxic is also a good medicine, but improper, it is non-toxic and harmful to the body. It can be seen that whether you handle it properly, just like being a man, is divided into right and evil ways, and both right and evil ways depend on a proper one. The key is whether you can bear hardships. As for the change of water mentioned above, people can see that the world is inexhaustible.
I hope this short excerpt will arouse your interest in knowing this wise man.
