A Brief Introduction to the Author of China's History of Journalism and Communication

Ma Yi is from Beijing. 195 1 Born, he is currently the vice president, professor and master tutor of School of Journalism and Communication, Tianjin Normal University, the executive director of China Journalism History Society, the director of Journalism and Communication Committee of China Higher Education Society, and the director of Tianjin Journalists Association.

His main works include A Brief Comment on the History of Newspapers and Periodicals in China (Xinhua Publishing House 1 995), The First Draft of the History of Contemporary Journalism and Communication in China (a special subject of humanities and social sciences research of the Ministry of Education, Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House, 2000), Advertising Regulations and Management (Tianjin People's Publishing House, 200 1, editor-in-chief), and The History of Chinese Journalism (Minzu University of China Press, 60). He has published nearly one million words of monographs, research papers and news works in various genres, such as the history of journalism and communication and news theory, and won many first, second and third prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.
