Internal introduction of Harvard university library

Widner Library belongs to scientific research library and generally does not accept visitors. Visitors must have an ID card issued by Harvard University Library to enter the library. The eye-catching signboard at the entrance of the library reads: "Please respect others, turn off your cell phone and pager and call the police." As a courtesy to others, please turn off the ringtone and pager. Walking into the central hall of the library, there is quite a quiet and comfortable feeling. The staff enthusiastically, cordially and carefully answered questions for readers until they were satisfied.

The readers were deeply impressed by the patient and thoughtful service attitude and serious and responsible professionalism of the staff at the information desk and the book lending and returning office. For example, the staff of the book lending desk will make an emergency summary of the books that have been ordered to the library but have not been put on the shelves according to the departments and names filled in by readers in the retrieval system, and inform readers to come to the library to pick up the books within 24 hours. There is a spacious and quiet newspaper reading room on the first floor. There are eight rows of neat teak tables and chairs in the center of the room, and dozens of rows of bookshelves occupy three sides. Each square desk has an oval elegant and beautiful desk lamp, and the base of each desk lamp is equipped with a power socket and a data cable socket, which can be used by readers with laptops (and scanners) at any time. In the reading room, you can see scholars from China from time to time. They make full use of Harvard's rich resources and study tirelessly. In the reference reading room on the second floor of the library, readers can access information resources from all over the world through the Internet, including the library home page in Tsinghua University. The larger libraries in Harvard headquarters include Kennedy School of Government Library, Harvard Yanjing Library and Harvard Law School Library. Guttmann Education Library and Harvard Business School Library. , as well as the recent MIT Library and Wellesley College (the university attended by the Song sisters). These libraries have their own characteristics in collection resources, management and reader service.
