An overview of Qian Zhongshu's characters

Qian Zhonglian (1908—2003), formerly known as Huacalysun, was named Meng Heng. Tenure professor. A native of Yushan Town, Changshu, Jiangsu. 1926 graduated from Wuxi sinology school. He used to be a professor at Daxia University and Wuxi National Studies School. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as a professor at Jiangsu Normal University and Suzhou University, a member of the planning group for the collation and publication of ancient books in the State Council, a consultant to the compilation committee of literary classics of the Chinese Grand Ceremony, a consultant to the compilation laboratory of Quanqing Ci, an academic consultant to the sequel of Sikuquanshu, a consultant to the editorial committee of Quan Song Poetry, a consultant to the China Ancient Literature Theory Society, the Chinese Poetry Society and the China Modern Literature Society, and the chairman of the China Poetics Research Association. 1984 "reunification of the motherland and writing of literature and history materials" won the outstanding achievement award of Jiangsu CPPCC; 1993 won the second prize of Ceng Xianzi Education Foundation, and was appointed as the outstanding academic leader of ordinary universities by Jiangsu Education Commission in the same year; 1995 was awarded the National Research Achievement Award of Humanities and Social Sciences in Colleges and Universities by the Education Commission; 1996 was rated as an excellent graduate teacher in Jiangsu Province by Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission.

Qian Zhonglian devoted himself to the teaching and research of China classical literature for a long time. Specializing in poetry and fu, especially in Ming and Qing dynasties. The Chronicle of Qing Poetry, edited by the editor-in-chief, won the first prize of the national collation and appraisal of ancient books and the appraisal of national bookstores. He also edited China Literati Dictionary, Qing Dynasty Volume, China Literature Dictionary and other large reference books. His main works include Notes on Poems on Earth, Poems on Han Changli, Poems on Jiannan, Poems on Bao, Poems on Modern Style, etc. His works have won many national awards.
