Mozi: "A good sword depends on profit, not on Mo Xie."
Xunzi Evil Nature: "He Lu's generals, Mo Xie, Juque and Bilu are all good swords in ancient times."
However, so far, there is no archaeological evidence of these two swords. For the time being, we can only get a glimpse of it from ancient books, or study it according to weapons unearthed at the same time.
Ganjiang and Mo Xie are probably bronze swords of the State of Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period, because the sword of Gou Jian, the King of Yue, unearthed in 1965 and other swords of the same period are bronze swords.
On the other hand, according to Wu Yue Chun Qiu? According to He Lu Chuan, Mo Xie, the lieutenant, is an iron sword. However, Wu Yue Chun Qiu was written in the Eastern Han Dynasty, when the bronze sword was replaced by the iron sword, so it may be recorded incorrectly.
