Brief introduction of Yang Shilin's works

Among them, in the postscript of Zheng Banqiao's Story published by Anhui people in 1992, the author wrote: "I became interested in Zheng Banqiao ten years ago. People over 30 tend to be emotional. The world is infinite. A stormy life can be in tune with the mood of "drinking, going to the market, being crazy about poetry, and pulling ghosts at the grave", not to mention some similarities with Banqiao's journey? So dare to' chew' Zheng Banqiao ". From this account, it is not difficult to see Mr. Yang's mood and cultural pursuit. Mr. Yang is versatile, and has a high level of study and research in poetry, literature, calligraphy, painting, archaeology, identification and so on, especially in Laozi and Zhuangzi's philosophy and Zen Buddhism. He has published hundreds of thousands of theoretical articles in professional journals such as Cultural Relics, Calligraphy Research and Art History, and his monograph The Story of Zheng Banqiao and A Review of Zheng Banqiao is in Chinese mainland.

Mr. Yang Shilin is a scholar calligrapher with broad mind, broad vision, profound knowledge, hard work and indifferent to fame and fortune. His calligraphy is novel and unique. His rich calligraphy works embody the beauty of thinness, simplicity and quietness, and bring us endless joy and excitement, as well as heartfelt admiration and great spiritual enjoyment. Many domestic publications have introduced and reported him. Mr. Zhao Puchu read a page of his cursive script, wrote an inscription by himself, and gave a high evaluation. He seldom talks about these honors to outsiders, and only a few friends can understand his ambitions and achievements. Teacher Shilin is knowledgeable and has a broad vision. It is very rewarding to talk with him. He has a deep attachment to his hometown and a deep study of the history of the Huaihe River Basin. At the "First National Symposium on Calligraphy Art and Taoist Aesthetics", Mr. Yang submitted two in-depth academic papers, one of which was entitled "A Random Talk on Huaihe Culture". Mr. Yang analyzed the origin, development and evolution of Huaihe River culture vertically from a macro perspective, and demonstrated the basic characteristics of Huaihe River culture represented by Taoist schools such as Laozi, Zhuangzi and Liu An, the son of Huainan. His research results provide a brand-new perspective for studying the regional cultural background of China traditional culture and Taoist aesthetics, which has high academic value. As a calligrapher and calligraphy theorist, Mr. Yang Shilin has his own unique views on calligraphy. He believes that calligraphy should be said to be the art of writing the mind, because its lines with life significance express the mind more directly than other arts. Its rhythm can even be regarded as a record of the fluctuation curve of human mind. He said that calligraphy creation first cultivates the mind, and the nature pursued by calligraphy art is quite consistent with the artist's mind. Whether you realize it or not, when you really enter the creative realm, it is also the time for your psychological adjustment to the best state. At that time, it was not luck, it was all heart. This is a chaotic world. Everything seems to be there, nothing, and there is no way to grasp it. Everything is so clear and empty, my mind is like a blank sheet of paper, and it is so vague, like the moon in the water and the flowers in the fog, just like a qigong state.

Mr. Yang Shilin is also a great collector, and his priceless collection is endless. Decades of collection practice has sharpened his vision and accumulated a lot of writings. Even better, these achievements are all natural and come from his natural and pure mind, which is probably the necessity of experiencing the art avenue. Now Mr Yang Shilin has lived in seclusion for three years. He loves painting and calligraphy and the identification of ancient cultural relics, and has become a layman like Zheng Banqiao. Mr. Yang Shilin said: "Many people in the calligraphy and painting circles follow their leaders to create. Although their works can be noisy for a while, they can't be noisy for life. Real works of art must stand the scrutiny of future generations. He said that he has been in Beijing for more than three years, and he has never publicized himself and immersed himself in his studies. " Between the lines of Mr. Yang Shilin, we can see that he is a scholar painter who is really indifferent to fame and fortune.
