However, due to the long time, the change of dynasties and the disaster of war, most of the original works of famous artists since the Jin Dynasty have been lost, and only the copies and rubbings of stone carvings have been passed down from generation to generation. The authenticity is mixed, and most of them are accurate. In modern times, people have had a great discussion about the doubts of famous artists such as Zhong and Wang. After the mid-Qing Dynasty, the study of steles rose, and Kang Youwei and others even advocated the northern steles and belittled the southern posts. Therefore, people's understanding of calligraphy in the Six Dynasties is based on Weibei, and it has become a fashion for scholars to worship Weibei and despise Nantie. Kang Youwei discussed the artistic characteristics and aesthetic style of the calligraphy of inscriptions in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. However, the calligraphy of inscriptions in the Southern and Northern Dynasties was created by writers and sculptors, not simply by writing with a brush. Different levels of calligraphy and seal cutting often affect the final effect. When the study of steles flourished, many people of insight pointed this out, and calligraphers Qi Gong and Sha Menghai also discussed it. Therefore, the manuscripts of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties became important materials for the study of calligraphy art in this period. At the beginning of this century, the Dunhuang Tibetan Scripture Cave was discovered, and thousands of ancient manuscripts were made public, including those from the Southern and Northern Dynasties, which is of great significance to the study of calligraphy history in this period.
