The stupa at the foot of Cixiang Temple is an unknown master's stupa, which was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the Jin Tianhui period (1123-1135) and restored in the Qing Dynasty. Octagonal nine-story hollow pavilion, 48.2 meters high. To the south of the tower, Xiamen is embraced, and 16 caves are built around it. The second to seventh floors of the tower are built with bucket arches, and the eighth and ninth floors are plains. The top of the tower is covered with lotus petals and the tower gate has been destroyed. The tower is hollow, with floors and wooden ladders on each floor, and windows open from north to south on each floor. Mount Tai Monument of Song Liqing (1046), which is more than five meters high, is a precious material for studying calligraphy art. It is said that this monument was used to tie a leg of the lower east gate of Guicheng in Pingyao. Due to disrepair and the influence of nearby rivers, the foundation is sinking at present, and the center of gravity is tilted to the north by about 15 degrees, which is in danger of collapse at any time.
The restoration of abutment tower of Cixiang Temple began in 2004 and was completed at the end of 2007. In the process of maintaining the foothill tower, a scripture, ten ancient coins, four musical instruments and a cypress tree were also found. According to textual research, the age of ancient coins is from Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty to Yuanfeng in Northern Song Dynasty. Scripture is not later than Jin Dynasty, and it is written by hand, which is very valuable.
On June 25th, 20001year, Cixiang Temple and Zuli Tower were included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
