Let’s briefly summarize the books about Mr. Pu Xinshe. The specific reading notes will be summarized later.

"Puxin She Tan Yi Lu" has been written before, with too many typos. "Pu Xin She Chronicle" also has this problem, but it is not that serious. It can still be used as a reference. The overall quality of "Plucking Weeds in the Pine Window" is good, with many pictures, but the accompanying research articles are a bit lacking.

I also bought a Taiwanese version of "Research on Pu Xinshe's Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting" because after reading the title, I became more interested in this research angle. The author has a doctorate in Chinese literature and is also a disciple of Han Yutang. It is expected that he should have considerable accomplishments in literature, calligraphy and painting. Moreover, his teacher, Ms. Wang Peifen, not only studied painting with Mr. Pu Xinshe for many years, but also collected many authentic paintings of Mr. Pu Xinshe. After Mr. Pu Xinshe passed away, his wife, Li Moyun, lived across the street from her. During the author's study and writing period, he received a lot of guidance and help from these teachers. In the field of studying Mr. Pu Xinshe, the author's conditions can be regarded as unique. However, I was a little disappointed after reading it. It should be said that the framework of this book is quite good. It explores the origin, content, characteristics, etc. of Mr. Pu Xinshe's poetry, calligraphy, and painting, and tries to find the connection between the three. , to deeply analyze Mr. Pu Xinshe’s art from the perspective of poetry, calligraphy and painting, in order to make an appropriate evaluation of Mr. Pu Xinshe’s contemporary significance and artistic achievements. It just feels like it’s still a bit superficial and not in-depth enough, and there is too little discussion on the relationship between poetry, calligraphy and painting. But it’s no wonder, excluding illustrations and bibliography, this book only has less than 400 pages, due to space limitations.

Because the "Collected Poems of Mr. Pu Xinshe" published by the National Palace Museum in Taipei is temporarily out of stock, I bought two volumes of "Collection of Pu Ru" published by Zhejiang Mei. The main poems, lyrics, and poems of Mr. Pu Xinshe All articles are basically included. The important thing is that the quality is surprisingly good and the proofreading is careful - let me breathe a sigh of relief, it looks like a "book" - but if I am picky, there are no annotations, and there are many allusions in the book, so I need to check the information frequently. Of course, this cannot be blamed on the publishing house, but on one’s own low education. The little reptile at the end of the chain of intellectual contempt is really pitiful. Think of looking up information as studying. Even if you read it intermittently and often forget it, you will still miss a little bit, right?
