Anecdotes about identification of Changsheng inkstone
One day in 2003, in Beijing Oriental Painting Academy, Mr. Sheng chatted with several predecessors who appreciated calligraphy and painting. A Tibetan friend from Shandong rushed in and opened a flower-and-bird painting of a cloud, and asked several experts sitting there to see the authenticity. At that time, besides Mr. Sheng, there were several old experts, such as Shi Shuqing and others. Judging from the old mounting and restoration, the craft of this painting is very exquisite, and the authenticity of things can be determined almost by this alone. Mr. Sheng approached the painting and looked at it for another quarter of an hour. He concluded that there was nothing wrong with the Qing Dynasty, but Yun's autograph was written later. Although the ink on the inscription is also written in grinding ink, there is still a certain difference between the ink and the ink color of the painting. The old man clapped his hands on the spot and personally wrote for Mr. Sheng the affirmation of "distinguishing the truth, respecting morality and emphasizing quality". This story was circulated in the industry at that time for some time.
