When the monument was completed, the master of calligraphy and painting Fan Zengxin inscribed "Stele of the Two Sages of the Tian Family in Qutan" in seven characters. The nearly 1,600-word inscription was written in pure European regular script by Tian Yunzhang and Tian Yingzhang, the second-generation famous brother calligraphers of the Tian family and sons of Tian Yinting. Their superb calligraphy skills impressed the attendees. The "Two Sages Monument" is 2 meters high and 3.6 meters wide. The body of the monument is a conjoined structure, which expresses the fraternal feelings of the Tian brothers who depend on each other for life and death.
