Introduction to calligraphy

Introduction to calligraphy

Nowadays, many people want to have personal interests in amateur time walk. We say that everyone can learn calligraphy, but there is a gap between people. After all, the situation is very different. Mastering calligraphy seems easy, but there are also some tips. Let's look at calligraphy.

Introduction to calligraphy 1 1. Among all kinds of basic strokes, horizontal painting is the most widely used.

Horizontal plays the role of a beam in one word. In regular script, the quality of horizontal painting is related to the bone strength of words. Especially long horizontal, you must write fluently, powerfully, thickly and flexibly. Don't write lifeless like a stick. There are long horizontal and short horizontal.

1, long level

The long horizontal line is written like this: put pen to paper, from heavy to light, from light to heavy, write to the right, and finally return to the front to collect the pen.

When writing a long horizontal line, you can recite the formula: "heavy-light-heavy-back." The long horizontal stroke is the main stroke of each word. Be sure to write carefully. The long horizontal shape is thick on both sides and thin in the middle, and the middle is slightly bent upwards, which looks like an arch bridge. Tilt slightly upward when writing, with an inclination range of 3-5 degrees. Such as "one".

2, short horizontal

Short horizontal is also called "left sharp horizontal".

What it says is: start the pen lightly, from light to heavy, stroke to the right, and finally return to the front to collect the pen. When writing short lines, you should recite the formula: "light-heavy-back and front." The shape of a short cross is pointed on the left and round on the right. The strokes are flat but not curved, slightly off-center, such as "two, three". Note that short lines sometimes need to be written longer.

Second, vertical writing.

Vertical painting often plays a key role in supporting a word, so it must be written straight and forcefully.

The vertical pole is not straight, and the words are not straight.

There are three kinds of verticality, that is, tip verticality, hanging needle verticality and short verticality.

1, the writing method of the upper tip and the upper tip is: start the pen lightly, from light to heavy, write down, and finally return to the front to collect the pen. Dictate the formula: "light-heavy-back front". The shape of the upper tip is: the upper tip is pointed, the lower edge is round, and sometimes it needs to tilt slightly to the left or right. Such as: "work, king" and other words.

2. Vertical point (left point) Vertical point is also called "left point". The handwriting changes from light to heavy, slightly bends to the left, and finally returns to the front to collect the pen. The formula of "light-heavy-back front" The vertical point is often used in the vertical center or beside the treasure head, and sometimes it needs to be tilted to the left or right. The shape of the vertical point is pointed at the top and rounded at the bottom. Shaped like a drop of water. Such as: "confession, status" and other words.

2. The elbow picks up the pen slightly heavier, from heavy to light, and then twists and turns from light to heavy to the lower right. Press it again after the pen is in place, and finally pick up the pen to the right. Formula: "Slightly heavy-light-heavy press-pull". The curved head is shaped like a broadsword, which is sharp and powerful when stretched and opened. Such as: "Jin, Ba" and other words.

3. The writing method of flat stroke is exactly the same as that of elbow stroke, but the stroke direction is different. You should paddle to the right and lean down slightly. At the same time, you should pay attention to the tortuous shape, not straight, but like water waves. Such as: "it, lack" and other words.

4, anti-si (long hole) anti-si is also called "long hole". The reverse stroke is written the same as the side point, which can also be said to be longer on the basis of the side point. Such as: "head, no" and other words.

3. Vertical lifting (right hook) Vertical lifting is also called "right hook".

It says "Write down, write down, pause when the pen is in place, and then tick it out to the upper right". Formula: "pen-line pen-pen-pick out". The writing and form of the vertical lift are exactly the same as those of the vertical hook, except that the hook is to the upper right. Such as: "clothes, length" and other words.

Introduction to Calligraphy 2 Calligraphy Elements

Calligraphy consists of stippling, glyphs and rules. In writing, a word consists of stippling and glyphs, and a calligraphy work can constitute the rules and styles of calligraphy.

Dotting is the most basic composition and foundation of calligraphy. There are many kinds of stippling, but they can be roughly divided into five basic strokes: horizontal painting, vertical painting, left painting, holding painting and folding painting.

However, glyphs include many aspects. Some calligraphy textbooks summarize glyphs as: left-right structure, up-down structure, left-middle-right structure, upper-middle-lower structure, enclosing structure, semi-enclosing structure and single character.

Composition refers to the overall form of a work, and there is no fixed and unified pattern of composition, because composition is an individual arrangement and arrangement of the expression forms of calligraphy works, and it is the overall reproduction of personal knowledge, knowledge and style.

Why do you need basic training for the introduction of calligraphy?

Calligraphy is a writing skill, just like any other skill. If you pass standardized, complete and long-term training, you can reach the level of practice. From this perspective, calligraphy is trained, and this training should be completed within the framework of a standardized system. In addition, through these basic training, the most important thing is to learn how to use a pen in writing, so as to lay a good foundation for future calligraphy learning.

How to do the introductory training of calligraphy?

Learning calligraphy must copy the classic works left by the ancients. Why copy it? Because through the study of ancient copybooks, we can master the basic essentials of calligraphy stippling, font structure and composition. Some people don't like posting, which is a bad habit. The benefits of attachment mainly include standardized training and structured practice, and ultimately achieve comprehensive learning. If you don't stick to your post, you will be in a state of free writing. If you can't learn calligraphy by stippling, you will be in a state of blind freedom and eventually become a Jianghu calligrapher.

Do the following specific things:

First, choose a good copybook. In the selection of copybooks, we should find our favorite style to practice, enhance our interest in learning and achieve twice the result with half the effort.

Second, choose the right brush. In introductory training, the size of the characters is generally 3-6 cm, so it is more appropriate to choose a brush length of about 5 cm on the front and a double-sided brush.

Introduction training method

It is suitable to practice from stippling when starting introductory training. As I said before, stippling can be divided into five categories, and the others are all derived from these five categories, so practicing these five categories can be extrapolated.

Because of the different styles of calligraphy, I will not elaborate here, but only describe the basic requirements in calligraphy.

Writing posture: Writing is an important concept of calligraphy practice and the first step of training. Generally speaking, the pen is held with five fingers, the thumb and forefinger hold the pen, and the middle finger is close to the forefinger. Finally, the ring finger and the little finger are attached to the back of the pen, and the four fingers are equivalent to fixing the brush. When writing, push and pull flexibly. The height of the pen refers to the position of the finger from the tip of the pen. There are no specific restrictions on this. Generally speaking, it can't be too high or too low, and the distance should be about one-third of the whole pen.

Requirements for writing brush: writing brush refers to the state when writing. For example, when we write a horizontal painting, the process from the beginning to the end is to transport the pen. Its requirement is that strokes should be written in place according to different styles of books, and some people don't push the brush to the desired position. Lead to sudden stroke floating, weakness and lack of bone strength after closing the pen.

Several typical strokes:

Pen lifting and pressing: refers to the up-and-down movement process of the brush on the paper. Up is the pen, down is the pen. The effect they produce is the thickness of strokes, which makes calligraphy change and rhythmic. As Liu Xizai said in Qing Dynasty, "Shu Fan's brushwork is not only found in regular script, but also in official script, cursive script and running script. Therefore, pen practice should be the focus in training.

Center pen: It means that when the brush moves forward, the tip of the pen has to walk in the middle of the strokes, and many people also write on the side, resulting in a dangerous trend of calligraphy. However, as a beginner, it is not advisable to advocate using the pen on the side too much, because the pen in the middle is the basis of writing, and it is not easy to develop the habit of writing in the middle. It is necessary to strengthen practice to become a habit.

Strolling with a pen: Strolling with a pen generally refers to pressing the pen in a certain part of the stroke, such as the starting point, the turning point and the receiving point. Pause with a pen is a bit slow, which is different from pressing with a pen. Pressing with a pen is faster than pressing with a pen, and the effect of strokes with a pen will form a calm and concise sense of strokes. Understroke is a stroke written by side stroke. Its stroke speed is fast and its shape is broken. Sometimes it is called the action of moving the pen in the opposite direction. Downstroke is not suitable for learning at the beginning.

Introduction to calligraphy iii. How to choose a pen?

The bristles are mainly made of rabbit hair, wool, wolf hair or other animal hair. If you choose from the advantages and disadvantages of the brush, you must combine rigidity with softness, and the hardness is moderate, so that the writer can choose a handy brush to adapt to all kinds of writing and painting.

Therefore, the ancients put forward four standards: sharp, neat, round and healthy, generally from the perspective of brushwork. The so-called "tip" refers to the tip of the pen, which is as sharp as a cone; "Qi" means that the brush is neat and the nib is as flat as a flat brush. "Circle" refers to a round and rich pen, such as a cone. "Jian" refers to the strength and elasticity of the brush. Anyone who has the above qualities is a good writing brush.

Second, how to use ink?

Ink is the main pigment for writing and painting. There are fewer people who study ink now, but people who use ink are very common, such as "Yidege", "Zhonghua" and "Cao Sugong" brand inks, which are very popular among painters and painters.

When writing, add a little water, and the ink should be light and dark and dry. The ancients said, "Too light ink will hurt the spirit, and too thick ink will delay the writing." They also said, "Too stained water will make the meat scattered, and too dry water will make the meat dry. If the ink is too thick, the meat will stagnate; if it is too light, the meat will be thin. Thick ones are tired and the products are uneven.

Third, paper.

Paper for painting and calligraphy can be divided into three categories: raw rice paper, cooked rice paper and stationery paper. Because raw rice paper is too absorbent for beginners to practice, it is better to choose semi-cooked rice paper.

Four. inkstone

Inkstone, an instrument for grinding ink, is also called "inkstone", and its common name is "inkstone", which is generally used for painting and calligraphy. As long as the ink stone is tough and gentle, water-saving and sharp, beginners don't need to choose expensive ink stones.

5. How to choose a post?

The most important thing in learning calligraphy is how to choose a good copybook. A good copybook has an important influence on learning calligraphy. Therefore, when choosing a good copybook, you must ask a professional calligraphy teacher for guidance, and choose whose copybook to learn according to your personal preference. Only people you like can learn, and interest is the best teacher.

Lishu wins over Fang.

To learn calligraphy, I think it is best to learn seal script and official script first. Seal script pays attention to the center pen, and the pen should be round. Official script is developed on the basis of seal script, which has changed from round to square, and Fiona Fang has both. These two calligraphy styles lay the foundation for beginners to learn calligraphy.

Personally, I started with regular script, because regular script is dignified and beautiful, with fine stippling, symmetrical structure and harmonious proportion. So regular script is also a very good entry style. Among them, the pagoda tablet in regular script, the mysterious pagoda tablet in Liu Ti and the inscription of Liquan in European Jiucheng Palace are excellent examples for beginners to learn calligraphy.
