To practice hard-pen calligraphy, you can actually use either a fountain pen or a gel pen. Children in younger grades (below the third grade of primary school) can use pencils to practice calligraphy.
Why are there so many calls for using pens to practice calligraphy? The reason is that when writing on paper with a pen, the pen tip will have a greater sense of damping, making the friction greater and the line performance more stable, which is close to the performance effect of a brush. ?If you want to practice pen control, a fountain pen will be better. But the disadvantage of the pen is that it is inconvenient to carry, but now that you have an ink bag, you don’t have to worry about carrying an ink bottle with you!
So how to choose a pen? I will share with you my method below -
1. The brand of the pen: domestic, Asian, European and American.
Domestic brands: Hero, Yongsheng, Venus (discontinued)
Asian brands: Baile, Sharo
Europe and America: Lingmei,
2. Fountain pen nib: The thickness of the pen nib is generally EF, F, M, or B. For beginners, if the nib is too thin, it is not easy to show changes in the thickness of the strokes; if the nib is too thick, it requires a lot of hand control. High, it is recommended to use F/M model pens. Of course, the thickness of pen tips of different brands varies greatly. Even if they are of the same specification, they may have different thicknesses. Therefore, when purchasing, it is best to try writing first to see if it fits your hand.
3. Inking method: ink bag/ink absorber
4. Teacher Congcong’s recommendation:
Hero 329-2, Baile Smiley Face, Baixue brand straight-liquid ball-ball pen
Let me explain here. If you buy Baixue brand straight-liquid ball-ball pen, it is recommended to choose the bullet tip, 0.5mm
In general, I I feel that as long as you buy a pen and you are used to it, it is smooth and easy to use, it is not necessarily the more expensive the better! The pens recommended above are all very cheap, so for beginners of hard-pen calligraphy, you can buy some cheap pens first, try writing by yourself, and find the most suitable practice pen!
