The unique zhaobi of Yang's ancestral hall

1929, a mother's centenary birthday attracted the attention of military and political officials, academic leaders, famous calligraphers and celebrities in the Republic of China, and she rewrote the history of Pingchuan. That year, Yang Ruxuan's mother celebrated her centenary birthday, and the National Government approved the construction of a memorial building-Yang's Ancestral Hall. The ancestral hall faces south and covers an area of 1380 square meters. It consists of a large zhaobi, an octagonal pavilion, a single-eaved hall, east and west wings, courtyards and ancestral halls. The whole building is grand in layout and exquisite in craftsmanship. The big photo wall in front of the shrine is 22 meters long and 12 meters high. The tile roof has two corners and three holes in the shape of pins. According to the geomantic theory of traditional architecture in China, you can't make a hole in the wall unless there are "warriors, dukes and marquis". These three holes show that the Yang family is "defensive as a shield and defensive as a city".
These celebrity inscriptions are mainly concentrated in the centennial pavilion in the front yard of the ancestral temple. According to the traditional ancestral hall architecture, there are many stone pavilions in the ancestral hall, and the stone pavilion in Yang Ancestral Hall is an octagonal pavilion with a pyramid roof. The pavilion cover is supported by eight stone pillars with a length of 3.35 meters and a width of 2,727 centimeters, with a total height of about 4 meters. Drum stones are placed under the stone pillars and carved with exquisite lion-shaped patterns. The door of the pavilion is engraved with the word "centennial pavilion". The center of the pavilion is a square column, engraved with the centennial pavilion inscribed by Yuan Jiagu and the inscriptions by Chen Cengshou, Yi, Li and Wang Youlan. Liang Shi and Shizhu carved Yuan Gugu, Ren Kecheng, Wu Liangtong, Li Genyuan, Chen Rongchang and Wu Shao under the pavilion cover. A plaque inscribed by others. The base of the pavilion is Sumitomo, with inscriptions in Mongolian, Tibetan and Sanskrit on three sides, as well as Chen Rongchang's inscription. The whole century-old pavilion is rigorous, with huge materials, staggered tenons and mortises, solid foundation and exquisite craftsmanship; Inscriptions and stone carvings are written by the authors themselves, and the combination of calligraphy art and architectural art is the cultural essence of Yang's ancestral hall. Its numerous celebrity inscriptions reflect the changes of Yunnan's modern history from one angle and witness the cultural exchanges between Yunnan and the mainland.
