Sanshi Tomb is located east of the avenue outside the south gate of the old Linzi County, 50 meters southeast of Nanguan Village, Qidu Town. It has one base and three tombs, east and west. Arranged vertically, about 12 meters high, 110 meters long from east to west, and 55 meters wide from north to south, it is said to be the tombs of Gongsun Jie, Tian Kaijiang and Guyezi, the three warriors of the Qi Kingdom in the late Spring and Autumn Period. In the early 1980s, the local government allocated funds to build a 2-meter-high and 442-meter-long masonry wall around Sanshi Tomb. A round gate and a screen wall were set up at the southern opening. The screen wall was inlaid with "The Song of Liang Father" written by Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of the Shu Han Dynasty. Poetry stone carvings and imitations of Han portraits "Two peaches kill three men". On the west side of the tomb is a stone tablet of "Three Scholars Tomb" written by contemporary calligrapher Mr. Zhang Xunsan.
According to legend, Gongsun Jie, Tian Kaijiang, and Guyezi were the warriors of Qi Jinggong. They were strong enough to fight tigers and possessed the courage of ten thousand men. However, they were arrogant and arrogant, and finally became a scourge to Qi. Yan Ying came to remonstrate with Duke Jing of Qi, saying that they had no righteousness as rulers and ministers, and no moral ethics below. They could not restrain violence internally, and they could not intimidate the enemy externally. These people were a source of harm to the country, and it was better to get rid of them as soon as possible. But Qi Jinggong always thought about the good interests of the three of them in the past and could not make up his mind. Yan Ying faced the reality and decided to use strategies to eliminate hidden dangers for Qi, and then quietly waited for the opportunity.
The visit of Lu Zhaogong promoted the smooth implementation of Yan Ying's plan to eliminate evil. At the banquet to welcome Lu Zhaogong, Yan Ying had six fresh peaches presented to him, and he recited a congratulatory message and asked the two monarchs to eat one peach each. The two monarchs were very happy with the meal and gave one piece each to Lu Xiang Guo Jing Sun Nuo and Qi Xiang Guo Yan Ying. Regarding the remaining two peaches, Yan Ying proposed that Gongsun Jie, Tian Kaijiang, and Guyezi, who were standing on the left and right, eat the peaches based on their merits. Gongsun Jie said that he had killed a tiger in Nanshan, and Tian Kaijiang said that he had made great achievements by killing the enemy, and each took a peach. When Guyezi saw that the peach had been separated, he couldn't help but became furious. He listed his achievements and said: "When the king crossed the Yellow River, the big turtle took away the horse that was pulling the king's cart. It was I who sneaked upstream for nine miles and killed the big turtle. He jumped out of the water with a turtle head in his hand and a pony tail in one hand. People were shocked, thinking that it was the river god who had appeared. Who dares to compare with me in merit? "After finishing speaking, he drew his sword in his hand and took the peach. The two men in hand are more serious. Gongsun Jie and Tian Kaijiang looked ashamed and said, "We are inferior to others in terms of merit and ability, but we actually grabbed the peach first. We cannot be considered warriors until we die!" After saying this, the two of them drew their swords and committed suicide. When Guyezi saw this, he regretted it and said, "I am ashamed of my companions. What kind of warrior can I be if I live alone?" He also committed suicide.
Another theory is that Guy Yezi committed suicide first because he was humiliated in front of the monarchs of the two countries, and Tian Kaijiang and Gongsun Jie committed suicide immediately. Regardless of who comes first, this story of "two peaches killing three men" has spread like wildfire since then and has been passed down from generation to generation, becoming the best carrier of the superb wisdom of Yan Ying, a wise minister of the generation.
This wonderful story has been often mentioned by people throughout the ages, using this allusion to express their nostalgic feelings. Zhao Zhixin, a realist poet in the early Qing Dynasty, wrote a poem called "The Tomb of Three Scholars": "Father Shi (referring to Father Shi Yue) escaped from the trap, and what happened to the three generals who were left behind? Meng Chang sat down to eat with three thousand guests, and killed all the peaches in the garden. "It is said that before moving to Longzhong, the famous statesman and military strategist Zhuge Liang of the Three Kingdoms once visited the old capital of Qi from his hometown in Yinan, Shandong, and visited the three warriors who were buried in Dangyin seven centuries ago. He wrote in the poem "Liang Fu Yin":
