SQ3R reading method

SQRRR reading method is recognized as the fastest learning method in the world.

SQ3R reading method is the initials of five English words: investigation, questioning, reading, retelling and reviewing, which respectively represent five learning stages: browsing, questioning, reading, retelling and reviewing. This reading method was put forward by Robinson of the University of Iowa. This method was highly praised after it was put into use. Mainly in this browsing stage, we should pay special attention to preface, executive summary, contents, titles, drawings, tables, photos, notes, references and indexes, so as to have a general intuitive impression on the whole book. In this way, you can not only have a general understanding of the framework of the book, but also mobilize the relevant knowledge and experience you have mastered before, and provide a foundation for further reading.

Browse: This is the first step in reading. When you get a book, you should first briefly read the abstract and table of contents of the book, so as to have a general understanding of the book.

Question: at this stage, we should look at the title and content of the chapter, and ask questions while reading it roughly. This can stimulate interest in learning and promote your own learning.

Reading: If browsing and asking questions knock on the door of book knowledge, then reading is entering the house. Reading means reading carefully from beginning to end, and reading the key points and difficulties repeatedly. In the process of reading, we should be aware of our eyes, mouth, heart and hands, that is, we should think while reading and draw bars around. Try to combine the original knowledge with the new knowledge, write comments and comments, and take reading notes. In order to preserve the "knowledge impression".

Retelling: that is, "recalling impressions", as the saying goes, "watching movies". Leave the book. Think back to the contents of the book and see if you have a correct understanding of your questions. This is a method of self-checking learning effect and a means of consolidating memory.

Review: Generally, it is carried out within one or two days after retelling, and it is repeated every once in a while, which can consolidate the existing knowledge, review the old and learn new things, and gain new experiences from it.
