Linyi Pavilion near the Spring Garden
Linyi Pavilion is the largest building complex near Chunyuan Island in Tsinghua University. In the tenth year of Xianfeng (1860), the British and French allied forces invaded Beijing and burned the Yuanmingyuan. Later, Empress Dowager Cixi ordered the construction of a new garden. Because of the urgent need for building materials, she ordered the demolition of Linyi Pavilion and other buildings. From 65438 to 0979, Tsinghua University began to rebuild the original buildings on a desert island, and Linyi Pavilion is now often used as a leisure place for teachers and students of the school. The copying plaque was inscribed by Professor Jin Denian, a famous contemporary calligrapher, former president of Tsinghua University Calligraphy Association and deputy director of Longhu Art Museum in Mei Qing.
