Basic training methods of hard pen calligraphy

The basic training methods of hard pen calligraphy are introduced as follows:

1, stroke learning

The study of strokes is mainly carried out through the "eight-character method". Chinese characters are considered to be composed of eight strokes. Then each stroke is subdivided and practiced with examples.

For example, according to subdivision, we can divide it into seven types: flat skimming, short skimming, oblique skimming, vertical skimming, vertical bending skimming, horizontal skimming and horizontal folding skimming. With different examples to learn, in the process of learning, we can achieve the standardized writing of strokes and master different applications skillfully. The same is true of other stroke learning methods.

2. Learn radicals and words.

Radicals are simple combinations of strokes. Through the study of radicals, we can be more familiar with the use of strokes and summarize the radicals. Learning single words is to master the writing rules of simple Chinese characters.

As for radicals, we can generally divide them into five categories, namely, left radicals, right radicals, prefixes, suffixes and frames. In learning, we also learn by combining radicals with examples. The purpose of learning radicals is to standardize writing and master application skillfully.

The study of letter combinations is to learn some simple Chinese writing rules. For example: parallel equidistant law, stable center of gravity law, main drawing law, golden section law and so on. The main purpose of learning these rules is to write single words well and lay a solid foundation for the writing of combined words.

3. Research on the structure of bookshelf.

Frame structure can be regarded as a very important part of Chinese character writing. From a certain point of view, if the shelf structure is handled well, even if some strokes are not written in place, the word is still beautiful as a whole. On the contrary, even if the strokes are well written, the shelf structure is not good or not.

Bookshelf structures are generally divided into four categories: left-right structure, up-down structure, single-character structure and surrounding structure. Similarly, through the subdivision of each category and the combination of examples, we can learn to master the learning purpose of skillfully using the bookshelf structure.
