Han Duishuo

Han Yu was a great writer and educator in Tang Dynasty. His educational thoughts were profound and enlightening. He believes that education is the most important cause, and only through education can outstanding talents be cultivated and social development and progress be promoted. In Teacher's Review, he expounded the importance and methodology of education.

The importance of education

In Han Yu's view, education is the most important career, as important as politics and economy. He believes that the purpose of education is to cultivate talents with both ability and political integrity, so that they can become the pillars of the country and society. Only through education can people understand what is good, what is evil, what is beautiful and what is ugly, and can they have correct values and codes of conduct.

Educational methodology

Han Yu believes that the method of education should be based on "teacher". He believes that only teachers with noble moral quality and excellent knowledge can stimulate students' enthusiasm and self-motivation, so that they can give full play to their potential.

Secondly, Han Yu advocates "preaching and teaching to solve doubts". In his view, teachers should apply the Book of Changes to teaching, so that students can understand the knowledge of morality, philosophy and history through the interpretation of the Book of Changes.

In addition, Han Yu also advocated "preaching the Tao by classics". He believes that teachers should integrate classics into teaching, and through the interpretation and analysis of classics, let students understand the essence, so as to cultivate noble moral sentiments and excellent academic ability.
