Cukàn (Pinyin: cukàn) is a second-level common Chinese character, which was first seen in the Warring States Period. The upper part of the ancient Chinese characters simulates holding a handle with both hands, with a stove mouth in the middle and firewood pushed into the stove mouth with both hands in the lower part. The original meaning refers to cooking with fire. Related to this meaning, everyone can call it a pot. For example, the ancient kitchen was called a pot, and the cauldron for cooking was called a pot. Alice is also used as a surname.
The above words are mainly popular in Chu, and there are some other variants. Its glyph is probably that the middle part is a cooker and the lower part comes from a fire, which means cooking with fire. The first half is to allow sound or save sound. These variants gradually died out after the Western Han Dynasty. Due to the complexity of glyphs, many simplified forms appeared in later generations.
The first half of the essay "Shuowen" mentioned above was simply omitted. But it seems that this font is not popular and will not be used in future generations. The word "Cuan" in the Eastern Jin Dynasty's Cuan Baozi Monument and the Southern Song Dynasty's Cuan Longyan Monument (see "Calligraphy Appreciation") was omitted from the hands below, and the fire became four points. It can be seen that calligraphers at that time also found this word difficult to write.
Since then, the running script and cursive script have been omitted, and almost none of them are written according to the original structure. In the old days, troupe artists sometimes wrote the music used for performances as crosstalk, so there were such sayings as string play and guest appearance. The modern popular "Cuan" basically follows the most complicated seal script, but the part B representing Cuan is written as "Tong" and the part representing both hands is written as "Da".
