Jimei liberation monument

Jimei liberation monument is located in the center of the garden. The monument is 28 meters high, majestic and towering. It is made of granite. On the front of the monument, there are seven characters of Mao Zedong's calligraphy: "Jimei Liberation Monument", and on the back, there is an inscription written by Mr. Chen Jiageng, which is 284 words. The monument base has four steps: 13, 1, 8 and 3, with 13 representing the heyday of his career, 1 representing the year when he encountered difficulties, 8 representing the eight-year war of resistance and 3 representing the three-year war of liberation. The stone column of the monument is engraved with all kinds of rare birds, monsters and exotic flowers and herbs. On the front of the monument is the relief of the first Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Conference, in which the party and state leaders took a group photo. In front of the monument is a zhaobi with a height of 7 meters and a width of 3 meters. In the middle, there are 12 reliefs with three maps of China, Fujian and Taiwan Province embedded, which reflects Mr. Chen's desire for the reunification of the motherland.

The base of the monument is 13 stone steps, which are wide, symbolizing the smooth development of Chen Jiageng Company from 1913 to 1926. Jimei School has also developed rapidly, with primary schools, normal schools, middle schools, aquatic navigation schools, commercial schools, agricultural schools and Xiamen University. The second floor is 1 steps, which is narrow, symbolizing that during the decade from 1927 to 1936, due to the pressure of imperialist consortia and the impact of the world economic crisis, Chen Jiageng closed its business, and the scales of Jimei and Xiamen University were reduced. There were two layers of monuments on the platform. The two-story wall of the monument is also embedded with stone carvings, and the inscription on the first floor of the front is * * * and Vice President Li Jishen.

The three reliefs on Li Jishen's inscription record the grand occasion of founding ceremony. On the right is "Chairman Mao raised the flag at Tiananmen Square in Beijing when the People's Government was established on October 1st, 1949", on the left is "Commander-in-Chief Zhu paraded in front of Tiananmen Square in Beijing when the People's Government was established on October 1st, 1949", and in the middle is "All the Standing Committee members of the Preparatory Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference took a group photo in front of Qinzheng Hall in Beijing on September 19th, 1949".
