How to paste calligraphy?

Sticking is an important stage that calligraphy learners must go through. Whether you do well at this stage and the depth of your efforts are the key to the success of every calligraphy learner. In the face of numerous famous inscriptions in China, how to choose the posts and how to submit them is an important problem for many people who want to learn calligraphy. According to my study experience in recent years, I want to talk to calligraphy lovers about my immature practice.

First, choose a position.

Selecting posts is the first threshold for posting. Faced with a large number of copybooks in China's calligraphy, with the development of various technologies in today's society and for many reasons, the current copybooks can be said to be mixed with good and bad, and even the sham as the genuine. How to choose a position and what kind of position to choose, it is necessary to polish your eyes and demonstrate carefully. We must not blindly choose positions to start learning, but also make targeted choices. First of all, you should choose your favorite font, so that you will be interested in it in future study. After choosing your favorite font, you can learn more about what posts there are in this font. You can also check some information, understand and master the relevant knowledge of these positions, and then buy. If you have the conditions, you can consult experts in this field before choosing a post. Secondly, when we choose posts, we should try our best to choose famous ancient monuments and posts, which have been honed for centuries and thousands of years before they are recognized. However, the value of copybooks written by modern calligraphers is not easy to measure and controversial. Therefore, when selecting posts, we should take the ancient as the essence, start from the ancients, trace the source and absorb its essence.

Second, the post

This is a difficult and crucial step in learning. In this process, facing the selected position, most of the energy should be spent on the word "pro". How close? How close?

1, read the post

Facing the selected posts, the first thing to do is not to pick them up and write them, but to read them. How to read it? Read it roughly first, read its brushwork, read its spelling, read its spiritual interest and read its white cloth. To understand his characteristics, we should also know the origin and source of this post (that is, which ancient post this post was changed from). For example, Yan Zhenqing's "Ma Gu Xian Tan Ji" is a regular script, mainly using the brushwork of seal script, with more round pens, because Yan Zhenqing studied seal script. Make clear his writing style, whether the pen is hidden or exposed when starting and closing, whether Fang Bi is a round pen, whether his writing style is extended or restrained (generation, this machine has no original word), whether it is tight or loose; The second is to experience the taste, whether it is beautiful or elegant (this monument is spacious and has the potential of Mount Tai and Shi Gandang), elegant or Gu Zhuo. The third is to look at the characteristics of lines, whether they are thick, strong, elegant or strong. A cursory reading, overall, is probably. The second step is to read the post carefully, so we should look at more detailed things at this time, such as the relationship between the position of the stroke and other strokes, the weight of the stroke, lifting, turning, returning and reflecting. , find out the characteristics in the comparison, think and analyze repeatedly, and then improvise, which will often get twice the result with half the effort.

2. Temporary posts

After reading the post and understanding the characteristics of the post, you can write temporarily, apply what you read to practice, and turn what you understand into skills, skills and techniques. It is not enough to do this step once or twice. Need to practice for a long time. Tan (generation, this font has no original word), a famous aesthetician in Qing Dynasty, studied the Story of Ma Shi Xian Tan 125 times, which can be described as profound research. He devoted his whole life to writing this monument, and finally reached the realm of both spirit and body, free use and uniqueness.

Yuan Zhao said that "brushwork is not easy to pass down from ancient times to modern times, but it has been handed down from generation to generation", which fully explained the importance of brushwork. Then, when you come to a post, the first thing to do is to master its pen method.

At the beginning, after writing, we should thoroughly understand its methods of starting, writing and collecting pens, and learn how to start, hide, press, turn, stumble, reply and respond to the next pen. We should strive for perfection and have both form and spirit. This step is more important than just looking at how similar the fonts and strokes are to the original post. Of course, there may be many detours at first, but after repeated practice, you will realize the method of posting (which may require repeated attempts to sum up how many failures you have experienced).

(2) the essence, to obtain its charm

After mastering the brushwork, it depends on its structure and charm.

First, grasp its structure, which is a word formation. In China's word formation, it can be divided into two categories, one is Chinese and foreign extension, and the other is internal introduction. Mastering brushwork is only a part of a word, and we need to further learn the method of structure. Each slate has its own construction method. The structure of this post "The Story of Magu Xiantan" is tight outside and loose inside, tight on the top and loose on the bottom, and the structure is square font. Ouyang Ran's "Jiuchenggong" belongs to the structure of name extension, with tight words inside and loose outside, tight middle palace and wide strokes. Master its word-formation characteristics, reprocess every word and stroke when writing according to these characteristics (including the thickness, length, straightness, Fiona Fang and accurate position of strokes), sum up these rules, and practice with the following methods, and naturally master its word-formation characteristics.

(1) Choose words with the same radicals, practice them repeatedly, and then compare them to find out their characteristics and rules, so as to sum up some processing methods, so as to know how to deal with words that are not in the post.

② Find out the words with the same structure, compare and scrutinize them, and summarize the rules.

The structure of Chinese characters is generally divided into five types: single structure, left-right structure, up-down structure, enclosing structure and word structure. There are several specific subdivisions. Practicing words with the same structure together will help us discover its characteristics and laws. Only by mastering its structural rules can we achieve the purpose of writing "image" (similar shape).

(3) Find out the characteristic words, make individual breakthroughs and embody the characteristics.

In every post, there are some weird and special words. Although there are not many, these words are probably the characteristics of this post. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the temporary writing and research of these words.

Second, mastering the spirit likeness of words is the fundamental purpose of our posting.

Pursuing verve is more difficult than previous brushwork and knot. But verve is the main spirit of calligraphy. Just like people, an unfamiliar person, you can see his clothes clearly and his facial features clearly, but you may not remember who he is for a long time; On the other hand, a person you are quite familiar with, even if you can't see his face and face clearly, you will know whether he is Zhang San or Li Si from a distance, because his "God" has been deeply imprinted in your mind. The same is true of writing. Sometimes, although the strokes are vague, his charm can still be revealed. Therefore, when mastering the charm of a position, it doesn't matter much whether his strokes are long or short or whether his position is high or low. This is what we call "potential", the "potential" of a stroke, and the "potential" of a word is the same as the original post, so it has its charm. The following methods can be used for reference.

(1), zoom in and out to deepen the impression.

On the basis of mastering the brushwork and structure, you can enlarge or reduce the words on the original post when practicing. When the text is enlarged or reduced, the fineness, length and position of his strokes will change, but the charm will not change at all, so it will increase the difficulty of temporary writing whether it is enlarged or reduced. After repeated practice, our processing ability will be enhanced. It is more conducive for us to grasp its charm.

② Contrast and profound experience of "right" and "back".

Facing the post is reading and writing. Generally, the words posted are in front of you and easy to grasp, while facing the post is written behind the back, which is a sign of understanding the post. After the written text is processed by your brain, it will be very different from the post. At this time, it is necessary to compare posts and posts, find out the gap, and further improve the practice, so as to have a deeper understanding of them and grasp their characteristics more accurately.

③ The combination and fusion of "pro" and "creation".

When you are familiar with the post, in order to deepen your understanding of the post and grasp the "taste" of the post, you should also make a simple creation when you are near, and the creation should be based on the taste of the post. Write something with this flavor and apply what is on the post. In the meantime, it will definitely be much more difficult than the post, and it is easy to change the echo relationship, position transfer and the charm between the lines. After creation, compare with the original post, analyze and summarize, find out the shortcomings, practice and re-create, and repeat, there will be greater gains.

When the post has reached the verve, with the "taste", it is basically a post. It must be stated that entering the post is not the purpose. After entering the post, you can't stop, you must continue to practice, move forward to the second level, that is, the post, do a lot of creation, apply the flavor of the post to your own hands, and turn it into your own flavor after processing. Only in this way can you achieve the ultimate goal of the post.

(4), intended to lay the foundation stone, ready to post.

After studying the brushwork, structure and charm, we might as well do such a job to analyze the relationship between the middle palace, plate, space, midline and midline of a word, which will affect the size, orthography, charm and dynamic trend of the whole work and grasp its charm as a whole.

First, analyze the characteristics of the palace

The middle palace is like a human body. The size of a person is not reflected by the length of his hands and feet, but by the height of his body.

The middle palace is divided into three types: the air palace, the tight middle palace and the full middle palace, which are composed of the connecting lines between the beginning, turning and receiving of some strokes. Every word has a middle palace, which determines the size, skewness and momentum of a word. For example, their strokes are definitely different, but they can give people the same sense of size, because their middle palace is the same size; For example, the stroke length of the word "rhyme" is different, but its middle palace is still positive and the size is the same. Because its middle palace is positive and the size is the same, these three words are also positive and positive. After a word is written, the position of the middle palace determines the center line and midline of a word, and the dynamic potential of the word is reflected by the change of the position of the midline and the midline, so the middle palace affects the dynamic potential of the word.

B, plate composition analysis

Pan is the basic feature of Chinese characters in China. Like Zhonggong, Pan is made up of the beginning, turning and ending points of some strokes, but it is bigger than Zhonggong. In blackboard writing, basically all strokes are included, and only a few long strokes are lengthened. When analyzing a word disk, we should pay attention to the relationship between those "points" (the points formed by the beginning, turning and receiving of the pen). If you want to look good, you must correct the plate of words.

C, analyze the midline and midline changes.

The center line and center of gravity line play a very important role in Chinese characters. They are invisible lines, but they determine the dynamic trend of a word and the charm of a work. These two lines determine their own direction according to the whole work. Once the composition and taste of the works are determined, their center line and center of gravity line are determined and cannot be changed at will. Therefore, the compactness of the structure and the length of the strokes must be determined accordingly in order to find the post.

D, analysis space processing

Every word forms a space, and how to deal with this space is related to the sense of space of the whole work. When writing, you can't write too tightly, just like people dress, you can't wear closed clothes, and you can't wear clothes that are wrapped around your body and have no extra space. Leave some space for the words to breathe. How to open the space? There are three ways: First, leave some appropriate places and spaces in the words, not too crowded, especially when writing words with many strokes. Second, deliberately let some strokes break and open the space between words, but pay attention to this; The third method is to form some flying white on the strokes with a sense of space.

The previous posts are our foundation. The better the foundation, the deeper the basic skills, and the more posts you can post.

Create more when posting. When creating, we should pay more attention to the things analyzed before, make appropriate changes and exaggerations, and form our own style. However, no matter how to change it, we must do it: count white as black, know white and keep black, be loose, tight, risky and not lose. It is necessary to have both the essence of the post and its own changes.
