Dinghui temple landscape
Dinghui Temple has nine scenic spots: First, the mountain gate faces north. This records the history of Rugao people's resistance to Japanese pirates. The architectural features of Dinghui Temple are unique in the history of Buddhist architecture in China. Chen Congzhou, a famous ancient garden expert in China and a professor at Tongji University, praised it as "Shuihuan Temple, Loubao Temple and Shanmen facing north, and China is unique". The second is a double statue of Wei Tuo. Bodhisattva Wei Tuo is the first of the eight dharma protectors under the Southern Growth King and the first of the thirty-two dharma protectors under the Four Kings. Generally, there is only one Wei Tuo in a temple, and there are two Wei Tuo in Dinghui Temple in Rugao. Here is another story (which will be introduced later). The third is a plaque that "reflects China". The plaque "Yinghua" in Dinghui Temple was originally written by Empress Dowager Cixi and was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. When Su Juxian, a 100-year-old calligrapher from Shanghai, came to Dinghui Temple, he was very happy to start writing again. The fourth is the Pilu Tianguan. The Buddha of Sakyamuni in the Hall of Ursa Major is the Pilu Buddha, wearing a Pilu crown. This is rare in temples all over the country. The fifth kind is the single-stem lotus. Generally, the buddhas in temples sit on niches, while the Pilu Buddha in Dinghui Temple in Rugao is a single-stem Buddha sitting on a lotus, which is extremely rare in temples all over the country. Sixth, the Twelve Sleepers are in the Great Hall of Heroes. Jue Yuan, which means "perfect spiritual consciousness", is a great bodhisattva who helps to walk in Buddhism. On the left are Manjusri, Puyan, Xianshou, Guanyin, Maitreya and Mute, and on the right are Pu Xian, Miaojue, Shanhui, Shan Jian, Jingzang and Yin Wei. Manjusri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva are very rare and solemn paintings imitating Wu Daozi in the Tang Dynasty. There is a record in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou: "The only temple in China with twelve statues of Jue Yuan in Daxiong Hall." Lingyin Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 326) and came out of Dinghui Temple in Rugao more than 200 years ago. Dinghui Temple in Rugao is the second temple dedicated to twelve Jue Yuan Bodhisattvas in Daxiong Hall. Seventh, the statues on the island are known as "the crown of Buddha". On the back wall of Pilufo is an island Guanyin map, also called "53 reference map", which tells the story of visiting 53 famous teachers in the process of making a fortune. Professor Yuan Yunfu, a contemporary mural master, once stood in front of this island Guanyin statue for a long time and praised it as "the crown of contemporary Buddha statues in China". Eight is the blood book Huayan Sutra and Bayeux Sutra. At the southernmost tip of Dinghui Temple, there is a collection of "Blood Hua Yan Jing" on the magic weapon pavilion of the Tibetan Scripture Building. The great monk kept his profession (1908-200 1). He was once the great monk of Guangji Temple in Wutai Mountain, then the abbot of Shanghai Fuzhai, then the president of American Buddhism Research Association and the abbot of Guangming Temple in new york. He worked hard and wrote 80 volumes of Huayang Sutra with the tip of his tongue and fingertips, one of which was hidden in the Magic Pavilion. There is also a precious Bayeux sutra hidden in the Fabao Pavilion, which is very rare. According to Rugao County Records, in the 20th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1894), Rugao Yishen Gu Xijue presented 2 1 page of Bayeux Sutra, which was brought back from the lion country (now Sri Lanka), to the North Dongyue Temple (the original site was in the west of the North Water Painting Garden). Moved from Dongyue Temple to Dinghui Temple in 1950s. Nine is the Burmese jade Buddha. On the jade Buddha building in Dinghui Temple, there is a Myanmar jade Buddha donated by Shouye monk 1990. It is 12 feet long and weighs 6.5 tons. It is carved from a white Burmese jade. This posture of reclining Buddha is called "Nirvana" by Buddhism. When the Buddha was detained in Nara City, he was lying on his right hand with a pillow between the two trees in Nara, so this image is also called "Double Forest Absolute Degree". The shrine around the Jade Buddha is an old relic of the Forbidden City, which is said to belong to Empress Dowager Cixi. There are ninety-nine resplendent dragons on the Buddhist shrine, which can be described as precious cultural relics.
