Introduction to the Twenty-Four Festival Drums

Twenty-four drums, the content is based on the traditional Chinese twenty-four festivals, combined with the characteristics of the southern Guangdong lion drum and traditional calligraphy art. It is majestic and inspiring.

In April 1988, the world's first twenty-four festival drum troupe was established at Kuanrou Middle School with funding from the Chinese Association of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and the five major associations of Teochew, Fujian, Hakka, Guangdong and Hainan.

On July 1, 1997, China’s first twenty-four festival drum troupe was established at Huaqiao University in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

The Twenty-Four Festival Drums are the inheritance and creation of Chinese civilization, and have now become an important performance link in many large-scale festivals and banquets in the Asian Chinese world.
