Li Changbai (1916-25) was born in Xiali Village, Lanxi, Zhejiang Province (Li Yu's ninth grandson). In 1933, he was admitted to the Painting Department of National Hangzhou Art College. His western painters were Lin Fengmian, Wu Dayu and Li Chaoshi. Chinese painting was taught by Pan Tianshou, Li Kuchan, Zhang Hongwei and Wu Bozhi, and the painting art improved. Professor of Nanjing Art Institute, member of China Artists Association. As early as 1937, when he was a student, his "A Picture of Biqi" was selected for the "Second National Art Exhibition". He was good at figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, and also worked on poetry and calligraphy, especially fine brushwork flowers and birds. He is an important representative of China's meticulous flower-and-bird painting in the 2th century. Combined with teaching, I have compiled and published three teaching monographs, such as Composition of Flower Sketch Volume I, Flower Coloring Techniques, and Bird and Poultry Painting Coloring Techniques, which are valued by the educational and academic circles.
