Zhang Yu (lived around 1330 AD), whose birth and death years are unknown, was born in Luling during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. His courtesy name was Guangbi, his nickname was Yixiao Jushi, and he was also known as Ke Xianlao Laoren.
Zhang Yu was not a commoner. He served as a member of the left and right departments of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and as a judge of the Privy Council. He lived in Shouanfang, West Lake late in life, and his house was broken and he could not repair it. Taizu of the Ming Dynasty marched to Beijing and sent him back with generous gifts. He died at the age of eighty-three. There is "Luling Collection" handed down from generation to generation.
