Zhaoping Lake Scenic Area, formerly known as Zhaoping Reservoir, originated from the place where Liu Xiu paid his respects during the battle between Emperor Guang of Han Dynasty Liu Xiu and Wang Mang in Kunyang. The founder Liu Lei later built a platform to recruit troops. It is located 10 kilometers west of Lushan County, Henan Province, covering an area of ??more than 40 square kilometers.
