Brief introduction of Lanting calligraphy award

China Lanting Calligraphy Award is the only national highest calligraphy award approved by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Propaganda Department, and it is also the highest professional award of calligraphy art in China. The Lanting Prize for Calligraphy in China is jointly sponsored by the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles and the China Calligraphers Association. Named after Preface to Lanting, the award was called "the best running script in the world" by Wang Xizhi, a book sage. It is as famous as Contradictory Literature Award, Hundred Flowers Award Film, Plum Blossom Award Opera and Golden Bell Award Music, and it is one of the highest awards in China literary and art circles. It is the highest award and honor awarded by China to calligraphers, calligraphy theorists, calligraphy educators and calligraphers who have made great achievements and outstanding contributions in the fields of calligraphy art creation, theoretical research, calligraphy education, editing and publishing, and it is also a major award and exhibition activity that has been widely concerned by all walks of life, especially the calligraphy industry.
