Where is the Kang Youwei Museum?

Speaking of Kang Youwei, many citizens are familiar with his deeds of being the first in the world and leading the Reform Movement of 1898 in China in modern times, but perhaps they know little about his hometown, his overseas life in 16 and his life after returning to China. As the highlight of Kangyuan Project, Kang Youwei Museum and its adjacent Nanhai Guild Hall present detailed historical materials and precious collections, and tell the stories behind cultural relics through exhibitions and lectures.

Stepping into the lobby of the museum, the bronze statue of Kang Youwei, created by the famous sculptor Pan He, stands right in front, and his bright eyes reflect the wisdom of pursuing democracy. Historical scenes, such as giving lectures in the 10,000-acre thatched cottage, leading the bus to write a letter, and carrying out the Reform Movement of 1898, clearly emerge on a large relief called "The Road to Reform" behind the bronze statue. According to the staff of the museum, leading the Reform Movement of 1898 and writing Datong Book are Kang Youwei's most important contributions to China's modern history, China culture and even the world's cultural thoughts. Putting the most important "selling points" at the forefront is conducive to letting the audience clearly understand the significance of the times.

The exhibition hall has two floors, covering an area of 1.600 square meters and a building area of more than 3,200 square meters. In chronological order, the exhibition hall has set up eight contents, such as "The Times Calls for Change", "Family and Childhood", "The Age of Self-cultivation and Lecturing", "Leading the Reform Movement of 1898" and "Unremitting Pursuit-Kang Youwei is Overseas". Through cultural relics display, scene simulation, phantom imaging, interactive media and other means, fully display Kang Youwei's life experience and lifelong achievements, and commend his lofty achievements.

The exhibition hall first presents the background of "writing on the bus", bringing out the history of Zeng Guofan, Zuo, Li Hongzhang and others advocating learning from western machine manufacturing and developing the Westernization Movement. From the 1960s to the 1990s, national capital enterprises continued to grow and develop. Chen Qiyuan founded the first national capital enterprise in China, and Zhang Zhenxun founded the earliest brewing enterprise in China. Here we can see the production or life scenes of these national capitalists.

Followed by the description of Kang Youwei's family background and childhood, the exhibition hall reproduces the scenes of Kang Youwei studying in Xiqiao Mountain, studying in Jianfengyi, reading for the building, and his younger brother contacting books through vivid wax figures, sculptures and oil paintings. During the period of studying and giving lectures in Wanmu Caotang, the lecture situation of Wanmu Caotang was restored mainly through bookcases, four books and five classics, schoolbags, photos of Qiu's study room and lecture maps. This paper describes Kang Youwei's teaching achievements, style characteristics, academic achievements and changes with famous disciples, and explains them.

Kang Youwei, the South China Sea Guild Hall, has traveled all over Asia, Africa, Europe and America for 60 years, passing through 3 1 country, visiting Wan Li, closely examining the political gains and losses of western countries, and seeking a "good medicine" to cure China with the spirit of "Shennong tasting a hundred herbs". Here, many manuscripts of Kang Youwei's letters, political opinions and calligraphy works appeared in the exhibition for the first time, which provided an excellent opportunity for citizens to get a close look at Kang Youwei's thoughts and learn Kang Youwei's calligraphy, and became a highlight of the museum's collection. For example, among a large number of historical materials displayed in the museum, such as the Reform Movement of 1898 and Kang Youwei-Overseas, his works, such as Zhou Shuangji, Emperor Guangxu's Letters, China Reform Daily and Datong Book Catalogue, are extremely precious historical materials.
