An overview of Yan Zhenqing's regular script.

Yan Zhenqing Xicopybook is adapted from Duobao in Yan Zhenqing. Yan Zhenqing (708-784 AD), whose real name was Chen Qing, was born in Linyi (now Linyi, Shandong), and was a famous family on the left bank of the Yangtze River. Yan Zhi, the fifth ancestor of the Northern Qi Dynasty, moved to Yongzhou (now Shaanxi's An) in ten thousand years. Yan Zhenqing was once the Prince Taishi Gong, and was named the founding father of Luxian County, and was honored as "Yan" and "Yan Taishi Gong" by later generations. Because he is the satrap of Pingyuan County (now Dexian County, Shandong Province), he is also called "Yan Pingyuan".

In the Tang Dynasty, regular script was standardized and rigorous, and the brushwork was vigorous, and famous historical sites gathered. Famous calligraphers come forth in large numbers. Ou Yangxun, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan and Chu Suiliang are outstanding calligraphers in the Tang Dynasty, and their European, Yan, Liu and Chu styles are unparalleled, which has become the peak in the history of regular script art so far. Although Zhao Mengfu was born later in the Yuan Dynasty, his Zhao Ti is free and easy, round and elegant, and the regular script after the Yuan Dynasty is rarely comparable to others.
