First, the introduction of traditional Chinese characters:
Traditional Chinese characters are a font form of Chinese characters, which is called traditional Chinese characters in Europe and America. Generally speaking, it refers to the Chinese characters replaced by simplified characters in the Chinese character simplification movement, and sometimes it refers to the whole writing system of Chinese characters before the Chinese character simplification movement. Traditional Chinese characters have a history of more than 2,000 years. Until 1956 years ago, they were the standard Chinese characters used by people all over China.
The summary of simplified characters has received 2274 simplified characters, and the simplified character radicals are 14. The sources of simplified characters are common characters, ancient Chinese characters, cursive scripts, and merged Chinese characters, such as "Hou" and "Hou", which were originally two characters in traditional Chinese characters, but in order to omit strokes, the word "Hou" with fewer strokes was used instead.
Traditional Chinese characters are still used in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and most overseas Chinese communities such as Singapore and Malaysia are traditional Chinese characters and simplified Chinese characters. In Chinese mainland, in the case of cultural relics, variant surnames, calligraphy seal cutting, handwritten inscriptions and special needs, traditional Chinese characters are retained or used.
Second, the origin of traditional Chinese characters:
Traditional Chinese characters, that is, the writing system of Chinese characters produced after the evolution of Xiao Zhuan into official script, have a history of more than 2,000 years, and have been the common writing standard of Chinese characters all over the world until the 20th century.
Since the 1950' s, the people of China and the government of China have simplified the traditional Chinese characters and formed a new Chinese writing standard, namely simplified Chinese. Simplified Chinese is mainly composed of inherited characters and simplified characters introduced by China people and the Central People's Government after 1960s.
Third, the impact of change:
Because traditional Chinese characters have a history of thousands of years, they still have influence not only in China, but also in neighboring countries of China. Complementarity of simplicity and complexity is the evolution law of Chinese characters.
Oracle Bone Inscriptions's strokes are the simplest. In Shang and Zhou Dynasties, many characters in inscriptions on bronze were very complicated, and the seal script of Qin Dynasty was more complicated than that of the six countries. Later, the official script tended to be simplified, and then Tang Kai finally stabilized.
