Whether calligraphy looks good or not depends on the structure.

There are several points, such as why your "yes" is not good-looking? With Yan Zhenqing's "yes" word to illustrate:

First, it is closed in and released out, which is often said that the middle palace is tightened. This will be more compact and cohesive.

Second, the main pen stretches. A word has four sides and eight sides, generally highlighting one or three main strokes, and the main strokes extend outward. For example, the word "Yes" above extends horizontally from left to right, from sitting position on the left, and from lower right on the right. Generally speaking, there should not be many main strokes of a word, and only one main stroke extends in each direction.

Third, the sky is overwhelming. Let's take the above word "yes" as an example: horizontal and left-handed, they have primary and secondary: the extension of left-handed is wider than horizontal, so the purpose is that the left-right direction is not harmonious with left-handed, and the second is that left-handed is the basis of this word and needs to bear the upper part. Examples of these words are as follows:

There are many others, such as semi-enclosure, left-right structure, up and down, left and right, side-by-side changes of strokes and so on. If you finish it, there will be more. I suggest you pay more attention to it, and buy some books in this field, which are still very easy to buy.

Supplementary note: You wrote a running script, and I gave an example of regular script. Because regular script is more telling, it is the basis of all words. The rules of regular script apply to all calligraphy styles. Your regular script has a poor foundation, so you should start with the foundation and draw inferences from others.
