Graduated from the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University (now known as Capital Normal University) in 1961. After staying at the school, he has been engaged in the teaching and research of ancient Chinese for a long time. He once served as the director of the Ancient Chinese Teaching and Research Office. His main works include "Translation and Annotation of "Yan Zi Chun Qiu"" and "Guidelines on Ancient Philology".
In 1993, he was transferred to the Institute of Calligraphy Art of the First Normal University (currently: the Institute of Chinese Calligraphy Culture) to engage in the teaching and research of calligraphy theory. He served as deputy director and master's tutor, assisting famous calligraphers. Ouyang Zhongshi (director), a calligrapher and educator, established my country’s first doctoral degree authorization point in the professional field of calligraphy. During this period, he served as director and theoretical director of Beijing Calligraphers Association.
Main works include "Translation and Annotation of Famous Ancient Calligraphy Treatises", "Analysis of "Calligraphy Genealogy"", and "Outline of Chinese Calligraphy Theory" (Editor-in-Chief).
He is good at calligraphy and running script. His works have been selected into the 4th and 5th National Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibitions for Young and Middle-aged People (1992, 1993), and the 5th and 6th National Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Exhibitions (1992). Year, 1995), the first Contemporary Famous Calligraphy Nomination Exhibition hosted by the National Art Museum of China (2005). The long volume "Ode to the Beijing Olympics" is collected by the China Sports Museum.
In 2002, he was named the second "Moral and Artistic" member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
In May 2012, he published a new book "Analysis of Famous Texts on Calligraphy in Ancient Times" - Beijing: Cultural Relics Publishing House.
