How's Hu Hai?

It is not that historical figures are only heroes and villains.

I like Hu Hai, but he is not a hero. I like him because Hu Hai is a lovely child.

Zhao Gao did all the bad things that killed brothers and sisters.

Hu Hai only relied heavily on Zhao Gao, because his mother died as soon as he was born, and his father Qin Shihuang died young at the age of 49.

Zhao Gao is Hu Hai's teacher and has been teaching Hu Hai calligraphy, so Hu Hai regards him as his father. Therefore, Hu Hai's bad reputation is all imposed on him by later generations, and he is not a bad person.

From a passage in Biography of Lisi (to the effect that it is inhuman to usurp the throne and claim the throne just now, and the son should listen to his father), we can see that he is a man of benevolence and filial piety. But Zhao can convince a shrewd man like Reese, not to mention Hu Hai. So Hu Hai finally compromised.

But in a word, Hu Hai is not a bad person. He was just hacked by later generations.
