Wang Xizhi's Excellent Calligraphy Works

Wang Xizhi's excellent calligraphy works are as follows:

Brief introduction of Wang Xizhi

Wang Xizhi (303-36 1 year, 32 1-379), Han nationality, was a famous calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and was known as the "book saint".

Originally from Langya (now Linyi, Shandong), he moved to Wuxi and lived in Jinting, Shan County (now Zhejiang) in his later years. Worked as a secretary, general Ningyuan, Jiangzhou secretariat. In the future, he will take a look at the internal history and lead the right general. His calligraphy is good at official script, cursive script, regular script and running script, and his style is studied in detail.

The heart imitates the hand, learns from others' strengths, prepares the body, melts into one furnace, gets rid of the Han and Wei styles, and becomes a family with far-reaching influence. The style is peaceful and natural, the brushwork is euphemistic and subtle, and it is beautiful.

The masterpiece Preface to Lanting is known as "the best running script in the world". In the history of calligraphy, he and his son Wang Xianzhi were called "two kings".

After the disagreement between Wang Xizhi and general Wang Shu, he resigned due to illness, moved to Jinting, and lived in seclusion in his later years until his death. Jintingguan, a temple built by the heirs of the Qing Dynasty, exists.

On the right is an antique stone workshop with the words "Wang Youjun's Tomb Road" engraved on its forehead. The valley through the stone mill is an ancient tomb road paved with dimly discernible pebbles. At the end is the tomb of Wang Xizhi.

Wang Xizhi's tomb itself is not big, and its format is similar to that of Xie 'an's tomb. It is also surrounded by a pile of bluestones, which is similar to that of Yuefei's tomb in Hangzhou. There is a big monument in front of the tomb, engraved with the full text of Preface to Lanting.
