In 1498, Tang Bohu Zhongying was the first in Tianfu Township Examination, which was equivalent to the champion of Jiangsu Province. During the examination period, Tang Bohu and his friends wasted time every day, only to get worse after winning the exam. Wen Zhiming wrote to persuade him:
"My father said that you are very talented, but you are frivolous and arrogant, and I am afraid that you will accomplish nothing in the end."

in the 13th year of Hongzhi, Cheng Minzheng and Li Dongyang took the main examinations. When marking the papers, Cheng Minzheng blurted out: "This must be done by Tang Yin and Xu Jing" after marking two papers. After hearing about this incident, Hua Chang, the clerk of the household division, played: Cheng Minzheng was bribed by Tang Yin and Xu Jing.
The emperor was shocked when he heard this and ordered a thorough investigation of the case. After investigation by Li Dongyang and other examiners, it was concluded that there was insufficient evidence that Cheng had been bribed by Tang and Xu. After being tortured in prison, Tang, Xu and Hua learned that Xu Jing had bribed Cheng Minzheng's children and Tang Yin had begged for a gold coin. In order to calm public opinion, the imperial court deposed Tang and Xu as petty officials and exploited their official status. And Hua Wei was demoted for playing untrue things, and Cheng Minzheng also dismissed from office and went home. This case is closed.
Back home, Tang Bohu was looked down upon by his neighbors and abandoned by his wife. He lives in poverty and can only make a living by drawing some romantic pictures. He often feasts with guests in the Peach Blossom House, which seems to be leisurely and cheerful every day, but in his letter to Wen Zhiming, he reveals his inner pain.
He wrote in the letter:
Tang Bohu can only smile, smiling that he was naive and didn't know himself, that his fame was gone, and that his dream of making contributions ended.
At this time, his painting entered a new realm. He began to paint women, but the women he wrote were not beautiful. The women painted by Tang Bohu told themselves all the time: I am lonely.
The Autumn Wind Fan Picture, Tang Yin's masterpiece. This time, God completely abandoned him. Tang Bohu lives in poverty, with no house to live in and no money to eat. With the help of his friends, he built a thatched cottage outside the city and named it "Peach Blossom Temple".
Tang Bohu's "Song of the Peach Blossom Temple" is a portrayal of his life. The poem "Others laugh at me because I am too crazy, and I laugh at others because I can't see through it" has been passed down from mouth to mouth by the world. Many people appreciate this poem and say that the poet has a leisurely life and a detached personality, but how many people know that his leisure and detachment are actually only despair and helplessness after being abandoned by the world.
