-Take stock of the writer Wei Ransen's literary road and creative style.
Liu Haizhou Ping Zi Wei Ransen 1966 was born in Northwest Township, Yishui County, Shandong Province. In this barren land surrounded by mountains, his childhood was devastated by his father's early death. However, the kind grandfather planted the seeds of literature in his young mind.
Wei Ransen's grandfather was one of the founders of Yimeng Supply and Marketing Cooperative, the first supply and marketing cooperative in China. From War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation to the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the elderly have made great contributions to the revolution and construction of China. The old man studied in a private school in his early years, and he has a profound knowledge of ancient Chinese, not only in calligraphy and Chinese medicine, but also in-depth research on the ancient history of China. 1966, the old man was forced to resign and return to his hometown to farm for political reasons, but his study habits remained the same. He secretly collected dozens of classic works such as Historical Records, History as a Mirror, Spring and Autumn Annals, History of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, A Dream of Red Mansions, Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio and Classic of Mountains and Seas. Every night, the old man studied them carefully under the oil lamp, and wrote down his feelings and understanding in the blank when he was happy. It is said that the old man wants to sort out a history book. Unfortunately, he was born in a landlord family and joined the Kuomintang, and he was constantly suppressed during the Cultural Revolution. Later, those famous books were also searched and burned. Coupled with the embarrassment of life and physical illness, his wish has never been realized.
When Wei Ransen was five years old, his father died of illness, which was a great blow to Wei Ransen's grandfather. Overnight, the old man who had gone through all the hardships turned white and even became depressed and insane. However, he loves his grandson who grew up beside him. Wei Ransen once wrote these words in the epitaph of his grandparents: "You will eventually become a treasure jade, with wings in your palm. I have food and clothes to wear. Three winters are warm and five summers are cool. " This shows that the old man loves his grandson deeply.
However, what the old man gave Wei Ransen most was the nourishment of literature.
It seems that every winter when the mountain is closed by heavy snow, the old man tells him popular historical stories such as Little Eight Meanings, Big Eight Meanings, Yang Jiajiang, Yue Fei Biography, Hu Yanqing's Five Heroes, Wei Ransen Dong, and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio, and Romance of the Gods. One speaks vividly, and the other is fascinated. By the time Wei Ransen was about ten years old, the old man had told him dozens of classic legends and literary masterpieces. This laid a solid foundation for him to become an excellent novelist later. It is also an important premise for him to deduce the story development of traditional novels to a very high classic realm.
The real literary dream began in 1979, when Wei Ransen 12 years old. At that time, in order to get a good living environment, my grandfather led the whole family to the northeast. On the vast northeast plain, Wei Ransen first read a modern novel-Song of Youth by the famous female writer Yang Mo. Wei Ransen got this from a neighbor with his primary school textbook. He was deeply moved by the fate of Lin Daojing and had a strong desire to write a novel with his family experience as the background. However, due to family difficulties, I dropped out of school after only half a year of junior high school. At that time, he was not fully prepared in all aspects, so he dared not write even though he wanted to.
During the period of 1982, the spring breeze of reform spread all over the north and south of the motherland, the social situation continued to improve, many unjust, false and misjudged cases were rehabilitated, and all "rich land against bad rights" were eliminated. Wei Ransen's grandfather was among them. So, with deep attachment to his hometown, the old man returned to his hometown of Yishui with his whole family.
This year, Wei Ransen read Tie Ning's award-winning novel Oh, Xiang Xue. In the thrill of his heart, he picked up a pen for the first time and imitated this novel to write his first novel, Alas! Xuemei. He dared not publish the novel, but he opened the door to his literature. Since then, he used the money earned by selling green onions and tofu to buy a large number of works by modern and contemporary writers for research. He also recited selected poems by Li Bai and poems by Mao Zedong. It laid a solid foundation for future re-creation.
/kloc-in the winter of 0/984, Wei Ransen joined the army. The new living environment has given him new development opportunities and platforms. He began to study extensively, and in order to make up for the lack of academic qualifications, he taught himself all the courses of the Chinese department of the university. 1987, he finally published his first novel "Lessons", and then successively published short stories "Early Winter", "June and July", "No Moon Tonight", "Black House for Single Men and Dogs", and a large number of essays and prose poems, and won many awards in national prose (although he is embarrassed to mention these awards now). For Wei Ransen, literature is a religion, a belief and an important part of life. Although he is a sober man, he has never felt how great he is as a writer, nor is he obsessed with literature and narcissism. However, for the sake of literature, he dares to bear all pains and hardships, and can bear all the weight and pressure he needs to bear. In his words, it is writing with life. This is a pursuit and a realm.
Fiona Fang, a well-known expert in Chinese education in China, once wrote an article about Wei Ransen, named Wild Jujube in Yimeng Mountain. We don't visit and borrow some words to see how Wei Ransen writes about his life.
"When writing the first novel" Floating Dust ",Wei Ransen only slept less than five hours every night for two consecutive years. He wrote three drafts before and after work. He was depressed before it was published. After that, he was troubled by severe insomnia, palpitation and thinking for more than ten years, and he has not improved until now. "
"When writing the second novel" White Devil ",Wei Ransen was recommended by the army to a liberal arts college for further study. During the winter vacation, he used a broken bicycle to go deep into Yimeng mountain area for an interview. In more than a month, he ran to dozens of hills where major wars had taken place, visited nearly 100 old disabled soldiers and wrote five diaries. Since then, I have read more than one million words. It happened to be winter when he entered the creative state. At that time, his family of three lived in a comprehensive building of a factory, a house with only 12 square meters, a few pieces of furniture and a bed, and there was no room for him to write. No choice, he had to ask for leave from the College of Liberal Arts and write in a small barn at home. There is ventilation around the barn, and he wants to build a stove inside, but he is afraid of gas poisoning. He can only grit his teeth and feel cold all over. He writes until after three in the morning every night. Although wearing thick cotton trousers, his legs are still cold and unconscious. It takes an hour or two to warm up after going to bed. A few months later, he got severe arthritis. Now as long as the weather changes, his leg hurts, and sometimes he can't walk ... "
"In June 2000, Wei Ransen published his third novel, Four Doors. When writing the third draft of this work, he had an acute attack of pharyngitis due to a bad cold, and his condition has not been alleviated for more than three months. But in order to catch up with the progress, he is busy with the work of the unit during the day, coughing and banging on the computer at night, writing 8000 words at night, and spitting out most of his blood and phlegm at night. When the work was about to be published, he was admitted to the hospital for tonsillectomy because the doctor suspected that his throat had malignant lesions. Because a large blood vessel was cut during the operation, which caused massive bleeding, he didn't drink a mouthful of water or eat a meal for eight days, and only relied on infusion bottles to maintain his life. But when the publishing house sent him the proof of this work by express mail, he insisted on proofreading it twice before letting his wife send it away. The author once witnessed him struggling to proofread in bed, which was really embarrassing. "
The above paragraphs are only rough descriptions. In fact, Wei Ransen put a lot of effort into his creation.
Zhu Baotai, the old head of shenyang military area command headquarters, is a teacher of Wei Ransen and a friend who has forgotten the past year. He said in the preface to Wei Ransen's prose collection "The Lonely Mountain": "I am often moved by his persistent fighting spirit when I get along with Comrade Ransen. The young man who had only studied for six years before joining the army had an extraordinary fascination with literature. He set a high goal in life. He wants to change his destiny and become a writer, so he works ten times and one hundred times harder than others. He advanced despite difficulties, not afraid of setbacks, and advanced towards the ideal end with rare perseverance. "
Mr. Deng is a senior editor, a famous critic and a mentor of Literature and Art Publishing House. In his preface to Wei Ransen's novel White Demon, he also said: "Wei Ransen is a good young man who is willing to endure hardships and dare to struggle, and he is very modest. This is an important internal cause of his success and glory. "
Jia Pingwa once said that nothing good can come out without hard work. Isn't that what Wei Ransen thinks? Every step of the literary dream is saturated with his bitter sweat, and every step is full of heavy life. Wei Ransen inherited his grandfather's family motto of "being a man with a book and doing things honestly" from childhood, so he was low-key and sincere, and also showed a traditional and calm classic style corresponding to literary creation. He tells stories and expresses life with sincere feelings and brushstrokes, without admiration, vanity, danger and detours.
Friends who have read Wei Ransen's novels all say that his stories are good, and novels just talk. It is wise to say it cleverly. Wei Ransen's novels like to tell people's affairs with a big story, and often write a huge and lengthy story with double-line structure, such as Four Doors and Married Life of jy in Middle-aged Li Kui, which are all examples of classic stories with double-line structure. Writers also like the sudden return and arrival of human nature in fierce conflicts. At the end of many novels, there will be an amazing power of seemingly unstoppable explosion or destruction, which seems difficult to end, but comes to an abrupt end, and the characters suddenly embark on a traditional moral and spiritual road in extreme poverty. Offside and Married Life of jy in Middle-aged Li Kui are his representative works. However, no matter what kind of stories and conflicts, all his works are permeated with "the heat of the earth and the warm current of human feelings" (Chen Yingsong's preface to Liu Guanglin's new book). In classic sentences and expressions, he showed sincere style.
Wei Ransen and Jia Pingwa are both "peasant-born" writers, and their literary phenomena have many similarities, such as their preference for rural themes, their description of the plight of urban literati, and even their emotional expressions are strikingly similar. However, there are obvious differences between them. After 1986, Jia Pingwa basically began to digest stories and attached importance to idle writing, which made his writing waver, while Wei Ransen always insisted on the story setting of traditional novels. Building a thread and hanging a lot of idle pens can make the words sway and read on, so that readers can see the scenery; There is no idle pen, no digestion of the story, and magnificent writing. The characters and their fate are firmly planted in the story. Read on and let readers see another kind of scenery. Jia Pingwa "is good at clever language, winning with profound thoughts and fascinating details" (Jia Pingwa's Mind Threshold World by Tai Kexiang), while Wei Ransen insists on the essence of traditional novels "winning with rich plots, winning with typical characters and winning with describing the environment" (Jia Pingwa's Mind Threshold World by Tai Kexiang).
Wei Ransen's readers and friends all agree that he has a "rich complex". In most of his novels, the protagonists are mostly landlords or their children, so that Mr. Guo Qingwen, who didn't know Wei Ransen origin at that time, once said to him, "You always write an article about landlords and rich peasants. It seems that you have a' land complex' in your heart. " Although this is a joke, it shows a feature of Wei Ransen's works, that is, there is a shadow of himself or his family in every work. As a descendant of Defoe, the writer himself reflects on an era, a generation or even generations from the mental injury he suffered after a painful decision. The writer's feelings are always clean. He deals with all grievances with the principle of "repaying bad with good", and always presents the cleanest and most precious things in farmers' consciousness and life, that is, the people's kindness and the spirit of being kind and generous. The era of chaos and physical and mental harm has passed, but the distant sigh is still audible.
Jia Pingwa once said with deep feelings: "Fame is what creative people yearn for, a kind of recognition, a kind of comfort and stimulation. Starting from the ancient literary vanity fair, many liberal arts students may have begun to think about making a profit by literature, but once they enter the literary road, they realize that this is a career, which increases their sense of responsibility and control. " On the long road of literary creation, Wei Ransen also has a profound understanding of the responsibility of literature. He said to himself: "Literature is not only a job for me, but also a way to talk to my heart. With the company of literature, I can live a full, satisfied and endless life and realize the true meaning of life. Therefore, on the road of literature, what I want to improve most is not the creative skills, but the sincerity of narration. What I want most is not flowers and applause, but a free spiritual space. " The modernist task of the world literary world is to find the best way to feel the world mind. Wei Ransen took the traditional road of a nation, but he also reached the eternal hall of the soul.
It is not easy to find and stick to your own voice and language. Goethe is one of the few great writers who have released all their creative talents in human history. After decades of creative efforts and savings, Wei Ransen was born in a prosperous era. In his life, he also reached the creative opportunity to release Qiu Guang's burning talent. He was silent and sincere. From then on and in the future, there will be more and more important works in expectation.
