Calligrapher Kong Zhong

Confucius has descendants.

Kong Li (532 BC-483 BC), whose son was Kong and carp, was born in Lu (now Qufu, Shandong) at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, and was the only son of Confucius. Its name comes from a carp that Lu gave Confucius on his birthday.

Kong Li died before Confucius, and Kong Li's wife remarried after her husband died. Although Kong Li made no achievements in his life, he was respectful and open-minded, leaving the allusion of "Kong Li went to court", and the word "Apollo" was also used as the laudatory name of other people's sons by later generations.

Kong Li has a son, Kong Ji. All descendants of the orthodox Confucius family are descendants of Kong Li's son Kong Ji.

The origin of Kong Li's name

In the thirteenth year of King Jing of Zhou, that is, the ninth year of Duke Zhao of Lu (533 BC), Confucius was nineteen years old and married the daughter of a Song Dynasty official. A year later, Guan Qi gave birth to a son for Confucius. Confucius was the Commissioner in charge of the warehouse at that time and was appreciated by Lu. Zhao Gong sent a big carp to congratulate him. Confucius was deeply honored by the gift given by the monarch himself, so he named his son carp, the word "Bo fish".

Kong Li is dead.

Before Kong Li died of Confucius, he achieved nothing in his life at the age of 50. Confucius lost his son at the age of sixty-nine, and his grief can be imagined. However, he followed the funeral etiquette and his son "died without a coffin".

Confucius has always advocated retro respect. Although he lost his beloved son, he still has no coffin for his son, which is the forgetfulness and persistence of saints. The following year, Yan Hui, a proud disciple of Confucius, also died. Because the family was poor, there was only one coffin when they were buried. Yan Hui's father, Yan Lu, also studied under Confucius. He couldn't stand it, so he suggested that Confucius sell his carriage and buy a coffin for his disciples.

Confucius replied categorically: "(Although Yan Yuan and Carp) one is talented and the other is not, but they are both their own sons. Kong Li died without a coffin. I didn't sell the car, I bought it for him on foot. I used to be a doctor, and I have a rule that I can't leave. "

Because Kong Li is the son and father of the holiest, he was named "Hou of Surabaya" by Song Huizong, and the descendants of Confucius were honored as "the second ancestor".
