History of running middle schools in northern Jiangsu

Before liberation, the cultural and educational undertakings in northern Jiangsu were not developed, and most of the children in various townships dropped out of school after graduation from primary school. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Mr. Chen, a rural sage, took the lead in advocating the establishment of middle schools. He invited all the gentry from villages and towns to help him and received a warm response. The towns and villages recognized the funds for running schools, set up the board of directors and promoted him as the chairman. Later, Chen and Zheng He Lin Xiuwen were sent overseas to raise money. After the Anti-Japanese War, the local economy was depressed, but overseas Chinese learned that their hometown was running a school and gave generously. 1In the autumn of 946, Subei Middle School was finally established, which was initiated by Mr. Chen, a democrat, raised funds by towns and villages in the former Subei District and sponsored by overseas Chinese. The school site was chosen in the temple and named as "Chenghai Private Subei Junior High School", with Mr. Wang, a famous educator and calligrapher, as the first principal. The first session enrolled 200 students from Dongli, Xin 'an, Lianhua and Hong Yan. Then the school building expanded two ancestral halls.

Brief introduction of Mr. Chen

Chen, formerly known as Wan 'an (1898— 1976), was born in Tangxi Community, Chenghai County. 19 19 studying in waseda university, Japan. During his study abroad, he organized Red Heart Club with Peng Pai, Guo Moruo, Du Fu and Wang, and engaged in patriotic movement. 1924 returned to China to participate in the Hailufeng peasant movement led by Peng Pai. 1925 arrived in Shantou with the Eastern Expeditionary Army, and was appointed as Jieyang county magistrate by Zhou Enlai, director of the Political Department of the National Revolutionary Army. He faithfully implemented Sun Yat-sen's three major policies and was deeply loved by the people. 1927 arrived in Fujian with the northern expeditionary army and served as political inspector (Commissioner) in Zhangzhou. 1928 Joined the Revolutionary Party of China founded by Deng, and served as the organizing committee member. Then, at the suggestion of party member Du, he went to Indonesia to raise more than 40,000 yuan, set up Nanqiang Bookstore in Shanghai, hired new managers and editors, published progressive books and publicized Marxism-Leninism. Then actively participate in the progressive activities of the Kuomintang leftists.

After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he took an active part in the anti-Japanese United front and the people's anti-Japanese movement. In the past eight years, he has held important positions, led subordinate ministries and traveled to Guangdong and Hunan. Because of his ideological progress, he tended to the * * * production party, trying to rescue and cover the revolutionaries and party member wanted by the Kuomintang reactionaries, so he was not allowed by the Kuomintang. 1945 dismissed from office and returned home after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. From 65438 to 0946, Chen Shen felt that he had been away from home for a long time and had little service for Sang, so he sprouted the idea of establishing a middle school for his hometown. After raising funds from various sources, he founded Subei Middle School and personally served as the chairman of the school board.

After liberation, Mr. Chen served as deputy director of Guangdong Counselor's Office, member of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, member of the National and Provincial Political Consultative Conference, and member of the Central Committee of China Agricultural Workers' Democratic Party. 1953 was changed to a public office and named "Chenghai County No.3 Junior High School". 1959 1 was renamed as "Shantou Subei Middle School", and in the same year 1 1 was renamed as "Chenghai Subei Middle School". During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed as Liaoyuan Exhibition and Dongli Middle School.

1960 ranked among 209 middle schools in Guangdong province 17, and was awarded the title of "Hongqi School in Shantou Special Zone" in the same year; 1994 college entrance examination, John yang won the first place in Shantou's total score of science, tied for the fifth place in the province.

1983 was identified as the second batch of key middle schools by Shantou Education Bureau, and 1993 was identified as the key middle school by Shantou Education Bureau.
