Then the calligraphers who studied steles all the way in the Qing Dynasty were very good at seal script, each with its own style. Compared with running script, official script is easy to use, and there is no strict stroke distinction like regular script, so it will not be like learning regular script from official script.
There is a strong connection between strokes and characters in running script, which is difficult for beginners to master. But Carey is weak in this respect and easy to learn.
