How did the national hero Deng Zilong die?
During the Wanli period, the Jin Daolv Uprising and the Five-Opening Guards Rebellion were put down. In the 11th year of Wanli (1585), he beat the Burmese army in Panzhihua, and was promoted to the position of deputy commander. Later, he was removed from his post because he was partial to the soldiers and led to their mutiny. In the 26th year of Wanli (1598), Deng Zilong participated in the Wanli Korean War and was martyred in the Luliang naval battle. Deng Zilong is good at calligraphy and good at chanting, and he has written Feng Shui Shuo, Zhi Fa Zhi, and Heng Ge Ji, etc. He also wrote a self-titled "Moon-slanting poetry dreams thin, the wind scatters ink and flowers" on the plaque in the study, which shows that both civil and military are perfect.
