In the late Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, there was a small drugstore in front of Qianmen Waichen Lane, which mainly dealt in popular medicines. This is the founding old shop of Changchun Guild Hall. Changchun Hall opened in the last years of Qianlong, and the pharmacy opened in 1795, with a history of 200 years.
It was initiated by Sun Zhenlan, a tourist doctor in Shandong Province. After arriving in Beijing, he walked around the streets, ringing bells to practice medicine and sell medicine. Later, I earned a few dollars and opened a small pharmacy in Changchun Hall. In the fifty-fifth year of Qianlong, Changchun Hall was originally located in Xianyukou, outside Qianmen, and set up a shop at the north entrance of Toutou, a long lane, with the name of "Changchun Hall", forming a front shop and a back factory (self-manufacturing, processing medicinal materials and pieces of decoction), ending the life of a tourist doctor.
There are two facades on the west side of the north exit of the headline in the long lane. By the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, it was run by Sun Sanming, a descendant of Sun Zhenlan. Sun Sanming is a Taoist who lives in a fire. In the early years of the Republic of China, the national strength was weak, and foreign and Japanese goods flooded the market. At that time, Japanese summer medicines "Ren Dan" and "Bao Dan" were widely publicized and dumped in China, and advertisements in Ren Dan were posted in almost every town. In order to resist Japanese goods and revitalize Chinese medicine, with the help of pharmacist Cai Xiliang, Sun Sanming developed the magical Wuji Dan, Taishang Miansan and Tiger brand cool oil. On the basis of the original powder, four new powder formulations with different colors, purple, green, yellow and white, were developed, which can be used for patients with different symptoms and different colors and have better quality. Citizens compete for novelty and beauty and become famous overseas.
These medicines are packed in a small rectangular paper bag. There is a bald Taoist in the bag, holding gossip, that is, Sun Sanming. After Sun died, he entrusted Changchun Temple to his nephew.
Zhang Ziyu is also a Taoist who lives in the fire. He was ordained at Baiyun Temple. He is very clever, has made many friends and is good at doing business. For people who come to buy medicine, Changchun Hall is a company that buys and delivers medicine. Because I make a lot of money in drug wholesale, I never haggle over every ounce in the store. Of course, it is also beneficial for him to promote new drugs. Zhang Ziyu invests in all profitable industries. In addition to opening trillions of department stores, he also opened restaurants, cloth factories and printing plants in Qingfengtang.
After the Japanese invaders entered Beijing, they blackmailed Zhang Ziyu and asked Zhang Ziyu to spend huge sums of money to buy the front gate house. Zhang Ziyu had to admit that he was unlucky and broke his fortune to avoid disaster. At about 194 1, Japanese gendarmes arrested Zhang Ziyu on trumped-up charges. Changchun Hall sent people to dredge relations everywhere, and finally it took Changchun Hall twenty gold bars to redeem Zhang Ziyu.
After the July 7th Incident and the fall of Beijing, the operation of Changchun Hall was also in trouble. The Japanese restricted the mailing business of Changchun Hall to other provinces and cities, forcing its output to drop to 640,000 cases. When the Japanese learned that Changchun Hall was well funded, they repeatedly struck up a conversation. The shopkeeper of Changchun Hall was kidnapped and blackmailed by Japanese military police for no reason, and 1942 caught fire unexpectedly, so it was difficult to maintain Changchun Hall on the eve of liberation. After liberation, Changchun Hall was reborn. The store was moved twice, from the original site of Xianyukou to the present site.
On the eve of Beijing's liberation, Changchun Hall has become an empty shelf. After the founding of New China, Changchun Hall was a public-private partnership. As a patriotic industrialist and businessman, Zhang Ziyu was hired as the honorary consultant of the Municipal Medicinal Materials Company. After Sun Sanming started to run Changchun Hall on 1888, he devoted himself to research and finally successfully trial-produced a new smelling drug-Avoidance Powder, in order to compete with Ren Dan and Bao Dan, which are cool smelling drugs made in Japan. At around 1933, flour finally replaced Japanese product Bao Dan and monopolized the market. Among them, the sales volume of 1933 reached 2.5 million cases, with the largest sales volume in North China and East China, and also in Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and other countries. At that time, there was a saying in Beijing, "Don't panic in the dog days, buy an Changchun Hall and a fragrant medicine, put it in your nose to relieve the heat and reduce the fire, and keep your health." Phrases This period should be said to be the heyday of Changchun Hall. In Xianyukou, Changchun Tang Printing Factory, Changchun Tang Coffin Shop, Qingfeng Restaurant, Oil and Salt Shop and Zhao Yi Department Store have been opened successively, Dongsheng Wood Factory has been opened in Dong Xiao, and Renhetang Pharmacy has been opened in Di 'anmen. Plus semicolons from other places, there are eight stores in all. Zhang Ziyu, the shopkeeper, is called one of the four giants by the Beijing business community.
After liberation, Changchun Tang drugstore moved from Xianyukou to the east of Qianmenwai Street. With the prosperity of Qianmen Commercial Street, the business volume of Changchun Hall is constantly expanding. At present, it operates more than 6,000 varieties, mainly engaged in ginseng tonics and Chinese patent medicines. Later, it opened western medicine counters and medical devices, and became a well-known large pharmacy in Beijing, with a large scale and many varieties.
