A famous fan bone artist, carving bamboo fan bones.

When Sheng Bingyun and Xu came out of a school, they introduced the intaglio model bone that he and Xu cooperated with (pictured).

1, S-shaped three-stage composition is allowed. The pictures are dense and alternating, and the lines are positive or horizontal, which is changeable. Although simple, it is vivid and colorful. The mountain peaks are towering, the waterfalls on the mountainside are straight down, and miscellaneous trees are born. Up close, two pine trees are tall and strong. Sheng Bingyun's knife method is crisp, vigorous and powerful, with a strong knife spirit. The hardness of the rock is in sharp contrast with the softness of the waterfall, which shows my younger brother's brushwork well.

2, an ancient poem, swearing, must be Xu's book: Wuling Road, glamorous golden calf car. Green rushes over the internal water, and red falls over the wallflower. Horses are tired of tourists, and birds are happy in restaurants. The prince's grandson comes home late, and the palace tree wants to live in a crow. Inscription: engraved by Sheng Bingyun, small garden chapter: C to go. Sheng Bingyun's knife technique is sharp and smooth, and the stretch between words and the subtlety of reflection are also perfectly displayed. If you look closely, you will find that there is a calm spirit engraved on it. The so-called "ghost writing with a knife" is so sincere!

Sheng Bingyun (1909- 1968), formerly known as Song, also known as Bing Jun, was born in Taozhuang, Jiashan, Zhejiang. 1926 went to Shanghai to learn bamboo carving from Mr. Zhang Shiyuan, a painter and sculptor.

Zhang Shiyuan (1899- 1959), a native of Wujin, is good at landscapes, with neat and beautiful works, vigorous brushwork and profound calligraphy, and also studies epigraphy. He is a veritable "diner".

Sheng Bingyun, who is clumsy outside and beautiful inside, has a strong understanding. He mastered the secret of bamboo carving in a short time, and gradually entered the art of calligraphy and painting under the influence of Mr. Zhang Shiyuan. After finishing his studies, he carved fan bones and handrails to make a living in Zhang Shiyuan.

1937 During the "August 13th Incident", the Japanese attacked Shanghai, and Sheng Bingyun fled with the refugees and returned to his hometown to carve bamboo and wood for a living. However, after all, my hometown is relatively narrow and it is difficult to undertake lettering. 1939, I went to Zhang Shiyuan again. 194 1 When the Pacific War broke out in, the situation suddenly became tense and he returned to his hometown.

Tao Zhuang, like most villages, is relatively closed and superstitious. Unable to stand the temptation of a group of Taoist priests, he was in a daze because he prayed for peace. He never imagined that this carelessness would kill him in the future.

During his stay in Shanghai, through the introduction of Mr. Zhang Shiyuan, Sheng Bingyun got to know Wu Hufan, Jiang Hanting, Tang Yun and other masters of traditional Chinese painting, carved mahogany and rosewood calligraphy and painting box covers for them, and they wrote inscriptions on fan bones and handrails for him to carve. Wu Hufan deserves everyone's praise. Seeing that Sheng Bingyun was open-minded and eager to learn, he told him about the relationship between brushwork and knife cutting, and showed the bamboo carvings collected in previous dynasties, which proved that Sheng Bingyun was very good at this, so he also took Wu Hufan as a teacher.

(1894- 1968), whose real name was later changed to Wan, whose name was Dongzhuang, whose name was Qian, whose name was Gan 'an, and whose calligraphy and painting were all engraved in, was called "Beautiful Scenery Bookstore", a native of Suzhou, a famous master, connoisseur and collector of Chinese painting.

1956, Sheng Bingyun went to Zhang Shiyuan to carve bamboo again, and still invited several masters to paint on bamboo for him. Some rubbings have been published in the supplements of Wen Wei Po, Jiefang Daily and Xinmin Evening News. In Wang's Bamboo Slips, there are paintings and rubbings of Yuanyang Furong arms carved by Sheng Bingyun. The works are exquisite and vivid, full of interest and good at painting, but thanks to Sheng Bingyun's superb carving skills, his perfect knife technique reproduces Lao Jiang's painting.

Sheng Bingyun's bamboo and wood carvings are excellent, and the yin and yang carvings are very fine. This work is rigorous and precise. Most of the manuscripts were painted by first-class painters, who pointed out that the blade was clever and the artistic level was extremely high.

Since the mid-1950s. The days when painters and painters entered the painting academy and relied on them to collect prints are over. Some people who play with fans' bones and arms are dismissed as "playthings", and the market demand has shrunk dramatically. As a freelancer, Sheng Bingyun is in trouble.

He once said, "When God closes a door for you, he will open a window for you". Sheng Bingyun got a response when he asked his younger brother for help, and Xu introduced Suzhou Redwood Carving Factory to him. Since then, Sheng Bingyun has settled in Suzhou, bid farewell to individual labor and stepped into the door of collective production. Later, he was transferred to the fan factory to carve fan bones, and in 1965, he was transferred to the Academy of Arts and Crafts to carve bamboo. Most of the products of these units are exported to earn foreign exchange.

Xu (19 19- 1995), a famous painter, studied under Zhu in 1939 and became a disciple in 1942. After liberation, he served as design director of embroidery research institute.

Sheng Bingyun lived in an era of war and turmoil for most of his life, and he was timid and introverted. After liberation, the misunderstood "Tao" was designated as the gateway of reactionary society, and his ideological burden was always heavy. During the "Cultural Revolution", he committed suicide and followed his mentor Wu Hufan. Although the rebels wanted to "criticize him", ironically, they wanted to show the so-called "achievements" in the late Cultural Revolution and still sent his bamboo carvings to the province for exhibition. It can be seen that no one can erase his artistic achievements. After smashing the Gang of Four, he was rehabilitated.

In addition to private collections, some of Sheng Bingyun's works are collected by Suzhou Arts and Crafts Museum and some are collected by cultural relics shops.
