In the second year of Tai 'an in the Western Jin Dynasty (AD 303), Wang Xizhi was born in Linyi, Langya, and spent his childhood here. According to legend, Wang Xizhi often went to the pool to wash inkstones after practicing calligraphy hard in his childhood. After a long time, the water in the pool turned black, so people called it "West Wild Goose Lake" and ancient scholars also called it "Mo Chi".
Artistic achievements:
Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Collection of Lanting was highly praised by calligraphers of all ages. This post is a draft with 28 lines and 324 words. It is said that the author couldn't write because of the influence of the weather, geography and people at that time. Among them, there are more than twenty "zhi" characters, which are written in different ways. Mi Fei called it "the best running script in the world" in Song Dynasty.
Wang Xizhi is good at all aspects of Li, Cao, Kai and Xing. He studies the body, imitates the hand, absorbs the strengths of others, prepares the body, and melts in one furnace. He got rid of the style of writing in Han and Wei dynasties and had a far-reaching influence. His calligraphy is peaceful and natural, and his brushwork is euphemistic and subtle.
