Introduction to the Former Residence of Shaoxing Celebrities: Shaoxing is a famous water town in the south of the Yangtze River and the hometown of calligraphy in China. It is also the hometown of educator Cai Yuanpei, writer Lu Xun and founding Premier Zhou Enlai. It was called the hometown of celebrities by the late President Mao Zedong. The existing main attractions are: Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Datong School, Qingteng Bookstore, Qiu Jin's former residence, Cai Yuanpei's former residence, etc.
Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall is the ancestral home of Zhou Enlai, which integrates ancestral home, former residence, memorial hall and memorial square. Its seat faces south and is divided into three axes: central, eastern and western. The central axis is a hall, a hall and a building in turn, and a plaque inscribed by Comrade Chen Yun "Zhou Enlai's ancestral home" hangs above the platform door. There is a white marble statue in the second hall, and the third hall is where the elders of Zhou family live.
Datong Academy is divided into central axis and east-west axis. The central axis is divided into three parts: the gatehouse, the auditorium and the Xushe (mainly introducing Xu Xilin's life story). The first and second entrances of the East Axis are respectively arranged as classrooms, teachers' offices, imitation sporting goods, principal's offices, conference rooms and Qiu Jin's offices. The second, third and fourth entrances of the West Axis were originally classrooms, but now they are showrooms for the relics of the martyrs of the Revolution of 1911, displaying the articles and letters they used before their death.
Qingteng Bookstore is a residential building in Ming Dynasty, which is divided into garden, front room, back room and Tianchi. Sanpingwu is the main building, and the bookstore faces south. A row of lattice windows leaned against the bluestone windowsill. In the middle of the room, the portrait of Xu Wei, the couplet of "The Picture of Ivy League Bookstore" and the plaque of Chen Hongshou handwritten Ivy League Bookstore are hung. Above the south window, Xu Wei's handwriting is not as good as that of wooden tablets and couplets. Under the long table and chair is Four Treasures of the Study. The East and West Walls are respectively embedded with "Chen Rebuild Ivy Bookstore" and "Fifty Years' Portrait of Tianchishan People".
Qiu Jin's former residence is backed by Tashan Mountain, with three bays wide and five depths. Qiu Jin Cultural Relics Exhibition Room is located at the entrance 3 and 4 of Hechangtang. The showroom mainly displays pictures, objects, speeches and sacrifices of Qiu Jin martyrs who participated in the revolution that year, and people from all walks of life spoke highly of her.
Cai Yuanpei's former residence is a taimen building in Ming and Qing Dynasties with Shaoxing characteristics. The former residence is divided into three entrances: entrance hall, hall and building, with wings on both sides. Now the hall is the preface hall, and in the middle is a bust of Mr. Cai Yuanpei, with the inscription of Mao Zedong and the plaque of the academic master of Sha Menghai's works hanging on it. The front room, hall, back west room and west head of the former residence building are all exhibition rooms for Cai Yuanpei's life and deeds, which vividly and touching introduces Mr. Cai Yuanpei's glorious life with a large number of pictures, monuments and objects.
