The Fengfeng mining area in Handan City was named as "the hometown of Cizhou kilns in China" and "the research base of folk kilns in China".

In the morning, the China Folk Writers and Artists Association, the National Folk Cultural Heritage Rescue Project Office and the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles awarded the "Hometown of Cizhou Kiln in China" and "China Folk Kiln Research Base" to Fengfeng Mining Area in Handan City, marking a new stage in the research and development of Cizhou Kiln culture.
Cizhou Kiln is the largest folk kiln system in northern China and an outstanding representative of ancient folk ceramics.
Its history of firing pottery and making porcelain has a long history, which can be traced back to "magnetic mountain culture" in the early Neolithic period 7,500 years ago. Cizhou Kiln entered its heyday in Song Dynasty and became the largest folk kiln system in China. Cizhou kiln porcelain is open to the outside world, with a wide variety and more than 30 decorative techniques. In particular, black lines on white background have integrated China's traditional painting, calligraphy skills and ceramic technology, opening up a new realm of ceramic aesthetics. Cizhou Kiln's simple and free-spirited artistic style and strong national characteristics have had a profound and tremendous impact on ceramics at home and abroad. It is a famous kiln that has been famous at home and abroad since ancient times. Since the Yuan Dynasty, the porcelain burning center of Cizhou Kiln was transferred to Pengcheng Town, and the kiln fire lasted for thousands of years. At present, Pengcheng Town has four ceramic sites listed as national key cultural relics protection units, more than 40 ancient kiln workshops, hundreds of large and small porcelain factories (including 87 former state-owned enterprises) and nearly 40,000 employees.
In recent years, the district party committee and government of Fengfeng mining area have strengthened the protection and development of Cizhou kiln culture, and successively built two Cizhou kiln ruins museums and 1 Cizhou kiln folk art museum. At present, the Cizhou Kiln Art Museum is under construction, and the Cizhou Kiln Culture and Art Research Association and the Cizhou Kiln Research Association have been established.
