A Brief Introduction to the Aesthetics of Foreign Literature —— Comment on Wen Jing's Chamber of Secrets

The poetic works of Japanese monk Konghai. Konghai (774-835) was an early monk, poet and calligrapher in heian period. The founder of Shinrikyo in Japan. Fish, Master posthumous title. In 804 ad, he entered the Tang dynasty to study, studied under the master of Huiguo, and won the King Kong method name all over the world. He returned to China in 806 AD. He died in Mount Kea at the age of 60.

On the Chamber of Secrets in the Mirror was written by the author to introduce Chinese to the Japanese people after he returned from studying in China. This book was written in 8 19 to 820. The book is divided into six volumes: Heaven, Earth, East, West, South and North, which systematically narrates China's theories of poetic system, poetry, rhyme and duality from the Six Dynasties to the early Tang Dynasty. Focusing on rhyme, Tian Juan discussed the application of four tones spectrum, mode, sound method in poetry, seven tones and four tones respectively. The volume discusses the seventeen potentials, fourteen examples and ten forms closely related to rhetoric, as well as the six meanings, eight orders, six ambitions and nine meanings in poetry theory. There are 29 kinds of pairings in Dong Juan, some of which are duplicated in Tian Juan Phonology. Xijuan mainly discusses the symptoms of poetry, including the symptoms of theory, 28 symptoms of writing and 10 symptoms of writing. Nanjuan discusses the essence of poetry, including meaning, style, orientation and set theory. Starting with the expressive forms of poetry, Beijuan discusses several problems in Shu and Di Lu.

In this book, the author quoted a large number of China documents, and also expressed Kong Hai's own views on the art of poetry. The documents cited in the book include Four Tones Spectrum, Liu's Guide to Four Tones, Shangguan Yi's Bi Zha Hua Liang, Wang Changling's Poems, Jiao Ran's History and Art of Poetry, Du's Bi Tan, Cui Rong's New Poetry Style in Tang Dynasty and Shi Pin. Most of these works have been lost today. Therefore, this book is of great reference value to future generations.

Scholars in China and Japan attach great importance to the book Mirror and Chamber of Secrets. In recent years, China published Wang Qili's Annotations on Wen Jing's Chamber of Secrets, and Japanese scholar Koike Baiyi made textual research on Wen Jing's Chamber of Secrets. This book not only occupies an important position in the research field of Chinese and Japanese poetry theory, but also bears witness to the cultural exchange between China and Japan.
