Bai Jiao's Calligraphy Works

Bai Jiao's calligraphy works are as follows:

Bai Jiao was one of the few people in the calligraphy circle in the last century who could walk leisurely on the bridge of Jin and Tang Dynasties. He is also one of the few people in the calligraphy circle who learned the wonderful pen from ancient calligraphy theory.

Moreover, his theory has a great influence on contemporary book circles. His Notes on Art in the Clouds and Ten Lectures on Calligraphy gradually spread the art of "calligraphy" to the people.

On the other hand, Bai Jiao started with Ou Yangxun's calligraphy. He copied the Inscription of Liquan in Jiucheng Palace, and even reached the point of "ghosting" with the original post, which amazed his friends and everyone's Mr. Deng Sanmu.

White religion has a deep foundation of "old learning" since childhood, and later, like the progressive young people of that era, he received the education of "Western learning", which enabled him to have both Chinese and Western artistic aesthetics and ideological vision. During this period, a large number of precious overseas calligraphy posts and images flowed into China, especially some Japanese Jin calligraphy letters, which greatly increased scholars' horizons.

Calligraphy in Jin and Tang Dynasties is a vein, which goes deep into the cursive tradition of the "two kings" and is consistent with learning from Tang Kai. However, it is easy for people who study Tang Kai to write "regular script" to death, so writing cursive script will start again, which is the reason why "ancient method" has been lost.

In the era of Bai Jiao, "brushwork" was still a tradition among some literati, such as Qi Baishi, Huang, Yu Youren and Shen.
