Over the past few years, he has been selected for many large-scale painting and calligraphy exhibitions at home and abroad, and he has recorded great achievements and third-class merits respectively. UNESCO organized an "international calligraphy three-person joint exhibition" for it, including Arabic calligraphers and Latin calligraphers, and won the "International Cultural Honor Award" certificate issued by ABI International Celebrity Biography Center in the United States. At the same time, he won the honorary award of the first international calligraphy and painting exhibition in China. His works have been selected into large-scale exhibitions at home and abroad for many times and won awards, with one meritorious service and one third-class merit. He was invited to visit France twice and the United States once, and held the "Yao Xiaoyao Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" in Washington, Paris, Foton, Wassenaar, Belgium. His biography was included in the grand ceremony published by Cambridge, England and the International Celebrity Biography Center of the United States, and he was awarded the Certificate of International Cultural Honor.

In 1998, he was invited by the Organizing Committee of the 2nd World Chinese Art Awards International Exchange Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, and won the "Gold Award" at the prize presentation ceremony in Bangkok. Yao Xiaoyao's Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy was published, with Meditation at the Edge of the Ink Stone, Experience in Europe and America, and the TV film Cang Ren Yao Xiaoyao. His traditional Chinese paintings have won 17 prizes at or above the provincial level, such as the "Cow Cup" prize sponsored by China Calligraphy Association and China Artists Association. They were included in the "Grand Ceremony" published by Cambridge, an international art authority, and ABI International Celebrity Biography Center, USA. In 1999, he was awarded the title of "1 outstanding calligraphers in China in 1999". In October, 2 and May, 22, respectively, he attended the fifth "National Seminar for Celebrities Outside the Party" and went to Hong Kong and Macao with the delegation. In 21, he was selected into the "International Album of Famous Modern Calligraphy and Painting Professors" and won the "Gold Award" and the first prizes of "Century Cup" and "China Encyclopedia Paper". In 22, he was selected into the "National Invitational Exhibition of Famous Calligraphy Works" of Tianjin China Calligraphy Art Festival.
