Characters' Life in Shan Keyu's Works

Shan Keyu is an official and a scholar. He grew up in a big family and was a poet. His father, Shan Zhuo, whose name is Kui Ling, also known as Yunxi, holds the title of Gong Sheng. He has successively served as Wuping County in Fujian Province, Longyou County and Gui 'an County in Zhejiang Province, Guangfeng County and Nanchang County in Jiangxi Province, Chenzhou Prefecture in Hunan Province, Yongping Prefecture in Zhili Province and Tianjin Prefecture.

Zhili in the Qing Dynasty was equivalent to Beijing and Tianjin, most of Hebei Province, and a small part of Henan and Shandong. After Yongzheng and Qianlong, Chengde area in Hebei Province gradually set up counties, which were subordinate to Zhili, so the jurisdiction was quite large. Yongpingfuzhi Lulong is located in the northeast corner of Hebei Province, at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain. The solitary bamboo kingdom of Shang Dynasty is here. By the end of Shang Dynasty, Gu's son had Boyi and Shu Qi, and Gu intended to make Shu Qi his successor. After his death, Shu Qi gave way to Boyi, but Boyi did not accept it. After hearing that Zhou Wenwang was good at providing for the aged, the two brothers entered Zhou. When the prince of Wu attacked Zhou, Boyi and Shu Qi thought it was wrong, so they remonstrated. When the King of Wu destroyed the business, they lived in seclusion in shouyangshan, not eating Zhou Su, but eating from the European Union, and finally starved to death. Sima Qian wrote down his biography in Historical Records.
